I use Lifestraw products at home and abroad. The pitcher has been on my counter for years. I use the water bottles, the sip straws, and the Peak filter. The Peak is perfect for travel when you want a clean cup of tea, and the water bottle won't work. However, squeeze tap water through this filter, and I can make hotel coffee or tea. Thank you for making my life a little easier. I have used this filter for 6 years and just bought a new one. I can't travel without this.

Solution to travel and drinking water in so many different locations

I purchased the LifeStraw 1L Collapsible Bottles for myself and my son for an upcoming trip to Peru this March, and also bought an extra one as a gift for my son's friend who will be traveling with us. This brand came highly recommended by a close, trustworthy friend, which gave me a lot of confidence in choosing LifeStraw for international travel.

While we haven't used them in the field yet, my first impressions are excellent. Shipping was quick, and the packaging was sturdy and well thought out. The bottles feel durable and well-made, especially for something so lightweight and compact. I really appreciate how versatile the design is—you can use it as a bottle, squeeze water into other containers, drink directly like a straw, or even remove the filter and use it for storage. That flexibility is exactly what we were looking for when space and weight matter.

The filtration capabilities are also reassuring, especially for travel. Knowing it protects against bacteria, parasites, microplastics, and sediment, and that the filter lasts up to 2,000 liters, makes this feel like a smart, long-term investment.

Based on the quality, design, and recommendations I received, I fully expect these bottles to exceed my expectations once we're on the road. So far, I'm very happy with the purchase and would absolutely recommend LifeStraw to anyone planning travel or outdoor adventures where safe drinking water is a priority.

Practical, Space-Saving, and Peace of Mind

Love this bottle, now my primary drinking water bottle for backpacking. I use this and leave my "cooking water" alone as I move.

Great bottle for backpacking

I took it trekking on Nepal and not only saved money on bottled water, I also did not contribute to the waste stream of empty bottles. Also, I saved on water weight to carry since I could replenish from any stream or water pipe. This is the way to go.

Save money, and reduce carry weight and waste

We used the filter and bottle while traveling in Cuba to filter our drinking water and not use plastic bottles. The setup worked great to refill our bottles quickly when needed. 
The only problem I found was when you are removing the top to refill the bottle, it is very easy to unscrew the filter causing cross contamination. Once it went unnoticed till just before using the water. We ended up washing our bottles and starting over but it could have been missed altogether because the filter fell off inside the squeeze bottle and did not get noticed till after we filled another bottle without the filter being attached. 

Other than that, the filter has good water flow and filters quickly.

Great filter with only one little flaw

I have not used the squeeze one yet and Suzy rejected it even though she wanted something that will fit in her packetbook that woudl filter water in europe. I think the idea is terrific and it may be great. I was hoping ot return it since it didintowork out as a gift is that possible ? If not I will try ot use it and let you know. thank you fro experimeting with this idea. My son Greg loved the regular waterbottle. and Antonia and Tim love the pitcher. I tasted the water and it was the best. It tasted like my spring water which I can no longer use as a tree fell on the spring house.

without testing I can not give it a rating so put it in the middle

i want to love this but its so hard to squeeze. I bought it before a international trip, and barely used it. I rather boil water (in urban setting) and put it in vacuum sealed bottle. Tried using it in desert backcountry hike and friends had better flow with the attachment for bigger spout and we used that. I can't even feel inclined to use it on my own as my day pack water.

squeezing issue

When I bought this water bottle the water tasted terrible. For months. It was also hard to suck out the water. Finally it no longer tastes bad BUT the filter will not allow water through. I have tried to clear the filter but no luck. The final problem is that the base will not fit into a standard size water bottle pocket. I should have complained sooner.

Very disappointing.

I wanted to like this product: it's lightweight, convenient, and in theory, great, but OH MY does it make water taste horrible. Water like tastes like plastic— extreme versions of plastic. Think of water boiling in a melting plastic container for year… that's water it tastes like. It's really awful. I wish I could return this product. It's really not good.

Taste: UGH!

This item is unusable, as water squeezed out of it tastes awful (even after washing it multiple times, and using water from different sources - including already-filtered water). In addition, the photo is misleading, as it is not a bottle with a flat bottom, it's a pouch that cannot stand up.
