Easy to install a no brainer

I was considering buying a new PC that had Wi-Fi accessibility built-in until I chatted with a WalMart online consultant and she recommended this Linksys adapter to me. It worked perfectly with my 5 year-old HP PC. I can now access the Internet using my old PC without having to be hard-wired into the modem. And I did not have to invest in a whole new PC either. I couldn't be happier with this Linksys Wi-Fi adapter purchase through WalMart. Thank you very much WalMart for providing products such as this adapter and for providing online consultants who can educate us and guide us to the exact right product we need.

Linksys Wi-Fi adapter

I recently added a destop computer to my home office, and the computer was not wireless enabled. As I use wireless for all my home needs I was concerned about how to upgrade. I decided to try the Linksys adapter at the suggestion of a compute savvy friend. Talk about ease of installation. The product simply plugged into the computer and I was immediately hooked up to the internet. I would recommend this highly.

This product exceeded my expectations.

My old computer did not have a wireless connection for DSL, this Cisco Linksys AE1200 wireless N USB wireless adapter made it simple. Just plug it into a USB port on your computer and run the CD that comes with it and you can connect to the internet from your DSL modem. No wires needed. It will depend on how many walls the signal has to to through and how far away from the unit that you are trying to hookup is, my computer gets a strong signal through 2 walls and about 50 feet from the modem. If you can put the modem in a central location you may improve the signal to other computers in your building or home. Very pleased with the item and solved my problems for around $30.00.

Works great on my old HP desktop. The installation CD was very easy to use and only took a few minutes to set up.

Very easy to set up

When I first held the adapter the housing felt cheap and I started to doubt the quality of the connection a little. But I plugged it in and I get great reception. My access point is on the other side of the house and downstairs and I have 4 out of 5 signal bars with this adapter. Couldn't have asked for better for the low price I paid for it!

Acceptable price for good quality

Bought this to use with a b/g 3G mobile hotspot on a desktop computer. Put in the setup cd first, it told me to plug in the device, the setup software saw my wifi connection, I entered in the password and it would never connect. Kept trying several times and it would not connect. Canceled out of the setup cd and windows immediately connected it to my wifi network. I disconnected and tried several times and windows would connect it no problem every time. (not sure why the setup cd wouldn't work). Tested it out for a while. Would only connect and 48mbs (should be 54). Connection kept dropping over and over. Tried several different usb locations, but no difference, the connection was extremely unstable. It would randomly disconnect and reconnect at will. My laptop has zero problems using this same 3G mobile hotspot and the desktop had zero problems with the old outdated wifi network card using the mobile hotspot. The issue was clearly with this usb network adapter. Going to return it.

I would like to say that this a good product since I'm a Walmart employee, but the truth is, this product really isn't the best. It malfunctions all the time. I have had to reset it at least 4 times a day every day since I got it. I will randomly lose the internet connection, which causes you to have to reset it. It slows down your internet connection. There are better products out there. This one simply isn't worth the stress.
