You guys this is literally a true Lionel brand hobby train, which means it's a very lightweight plastic and not necessarily intended to be played rough with.. if you have slightly older kids that are really into trains like I do then the value for the money is unreal, but younger kids might prefer a diecast or metal train set. ❤️

A train for train lovers ❤️

walmart.com

Great train, my 4 year old nephew loves it and plays with it a lot. It was easy to put together and the batteries last quite a while in it, so we don't have to constantly change them. He has no idea what Hogwarts is, he just likes the train and sounds it makes

great not just for Harry Potter fans

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was searching for this for my daughter. It was quite expensive everywhere else. This is actually a toy, but my adult daughter decorates a "geek" tree. She has Star Wars, Dr. Who, and Harry Potter ornaments, among others. This train set will go well with it.

Great Value

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great inexpensive addition to my Lionel train setup.Bonus that is O gage and will run on normal o gage Lionel track

Great Chistmas addition

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's what my grandson wanted

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this train!!! It is good quality and was exactly what we were looking for….. the kids absolutely LOVE it! Would definitely recommend.

Fabulous

I bought this as a gift, so I haven't used it yet. however, it looks authentic which was a relief being that it was bought with no picture available. the deal seemed too good to pass up, so I bought it with only the words that a picture of the product would be coming soon. here is a pic of the back of the box.

bought with no picture available, so here's a pic

When I first tried to use it, I LOVED the sounds the train made, but the train kept de-railing. I thought maybe it was because the train cars were so lightweight, so once I taped a couple of quarters to the bottom of each car, it worked fine. Overall, I'm happy with the train, but would maybe consider spending a little more for the more expensive (and hopefully sturdier) version.

Loved the sounds!

Very basic for what you pay for.

The battery was impossible to connect, the plastic quality was very poor. Not worth the money.

Do not recommend

Lionel Harry Potter Hogwarts Express I Battery Operated Train Set engine and tender with two passenger coaches on a 28-piece battery-operated model train layout forming a 65" x 41" oval (8 curved, 16 straight). Features 3-position switch (OFF/FWD with Sound/FWD No Sound), runs on 2 AA batteries and plays looping steam chuffing, whistle, bell and recorded announcements; suitable for display on a shelf or mantel.
