Ease Of Installation

Although incredibly heavy and bulky, this RV stairs fits the bill for replacing ones that had worn out/broken on my old trailer.   

I would recommend anyone buying this to understand that the title mentions the size, but that is of the usable step, and the actual assembly is much larger. (about 1 1/2"-2"s).  This isn't a big deal unless the trailer/RV you're using it on has storage/equipment/flashing that butts up to the old step.

It's heavy, and as such I had to use a lot of rigging to install the stairs, another person to help hold it would be a great help.  The kit only comes with the stair assembly, no flashing, plates, nuts, bolts, or washers.  I found that I only could use a few of my bolts from the previous assembly, and ultimately I had to make several trips to the local hardware store. 

As far as adjusting, there are no capabilities to that, and one has to ensure that the assembly is plum and even, otherwise binding, grinding, and the steps will be hard to use opening and closing them up.  One should expect some time to determine the best way to install/secure these steps, unless you are replacing the exact same model of steps, as these are not manufacturer specific.

Once installed and secured these steps are quite rock solid, Ifind no issue handling my 200  pound frame going up or down the stairs.

I am glad how the stairs look and function, they are completely out of the way when folded up and under the body of the trailer.  these stairs would not be appropriate to leave out when the RV/trailer is in motion/moving.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like these now that they're installed but they were slightly narrower than the mounting brackets on our standard camper so that required some modifications. Also, one corner of the stairs had chipped paint right out of the box and now that spot is rusting so that's annoying. Otherwise they are pretty nice but with some flexing when you step on them.
