Struggles with handling heavy or wet debris effectively.

Fails to reach the bottom of the litter pan, leaving some waste unretrieved.

I love Litter Maid! I have several cats and I have bought about 5 to 6 of these. If you clean them every day---scoop/scrap the bottom of the pan, you will not have any smell. The new model works better and is a lot quieter. Be sure to use light weight litter in it and don't overfill it.

My cat is a senior and I liked the fact that I didn't have to change the litter he been using.

This product is good at keeping the litter box clean, but it is noisy! The track that the litter “fork” travels on, gets filled with litter, then the fork sounds like a dump truck. 
It's best not in your bedroom unless you sleep like the dead

Good but noisy

Have used Littermaid litterbox for over 25 years.  Sadly the quality and Operation of this product has gone down hill severely.  Would love to find a different brand of automatic litterbox that works better.

When it worked it was great.  It started failing after 6 months and now does not work at all.  Very disappointing.

Works great for 6 months.

Don't buy this if your cat is on high moisture diet. Since they pee a lot more, the clumping litter used will make the pee puddle clump to the bottom of the litter maid tray, and stress out the electronic rake to the point of burning out the motor. Crystal litter doesn't work well either, I found out. Since the pee is not evaporated fast enough, it puddles in the tray, and the rake will push the crystals into the poop tray, instead of combing through them since the crystals are saturated with liquid and stick together.

2 stars because it will work if your cat is dehydrated and only pees a little, but who wants to do that to their cat? Dry food = dehydration = Urinary problems which = vet bills, so please feed a canned, home cooked or raw diet!
