I got this for my seven year old daughter. She usually wears youth small or medium, and this costume fit perfectly. So the size runs little bigger than it said in the descriptions. It's cute and well made.

My 8-year-old daughter loved this costume. I ordered the 4-6 size and the skirt falls off of her. I think it's possible that it's an 8-10 that got mixed up. She's worn in twice now, I had to safety pin in to the top to make sure it stayed up. The back of the skirt on the seam but the ruffle detail already has a huge rip in it. It arrived with a stretched out area on the mermaid skirt (in a completely different place away from seams). Completely disappointed in this costume. It wasn't cheap, yet it didn't hold up for school and church trunk or treats where there wasn't any rigorous movements. Wouldn't recommend.
