The Little Tikes Count 'n Play Cash Register blends education with entertainment. Its vibrant colours are more than just visually pleasing; they also provide a fun way to teach children to match colours, sizes and numbers. My almost 2 year old (doesn't put things in his mouth) and my 3 1/2 year old boys absolutely love this toy. My 3 1/2 year old has already given it a nickname. My 1 year old niece also loves to play with it when she gets a chance. She bites the coins, though, which are a little small and should be considered if it is used around a baby. The price absolutely cannot be beat! ($11.00 before tax.)

The cards are a little tricky to use for my youngest one but they seem to like putting the coins down the change part in the back anyway. My 3 1/2 year old likes to take our order and then charge us outrageous amounts which of course we need to put on our credit card. We are still working on learning to push down the display to change the amount and charge what it says. Between counting, matching, and working on eye-hand coordination there are so many endless activities that can be done with it.

Each of the colors of coins are sized differently so only the correct colors can go in the correct spots. The coins stay in place until the card is swiped. The drawer can be opened or closed for that feature to work.

I can't imagine many kids not likely a toy like this, but I'm sure it might happen. It is great for imagination play for children that like to pretend. My opinion of this toy might be a little higher because the price is so extremely reasonable for this type of toy. I've worked with children for years and I personally think this toy is a wonderful toy for most kids.

This toy is really good for the price. All three of my kids are able to enjoy it (they range in age from 1 year to 5).

Fun little toy

An excellent purchase for two-year olds, providing sustained play.  Also helps in sorting, counting number recognition.  It's a sturdy item and all the pieces store in the cash register drawer.  A win!

Great Play Value

I specifically bought this model because it doesn't need batteries and doesn't flash lights or make noise. It's a great mechanical toy and my kids love it.

Excellent non electronic toy

My grandchildren love playing with it and this is actually the second one I purchased.  I do wish there was an option to buy the accessories (the cute coins/credit card) because as hard as I try - they get misplaced.

Great toy for preschoolers

Great product. I work for an Early Childhood program that loans out toys and books to families, so it is frustrating when companies don't offer replacement pieces. We give our families time to look, but after awhile it is just easier for us to replace them to make it more fun for the next kids to use. With such a quality product that lasts a long time, this should be something that is offered.

Great little toy for the little one - learning colors, matching, counting etc - it keeps their attention, easy to wipe clean, built STRONG - we both love this toy !

Keeps them busy !

I purchased this for my son's second birthday, as he loves things like this that have many parts that move, click, etc. This toy was fun for him for about 15 minutes, then he set it aside and has not played with it again. He has taken the "credit cards" and plays with those with other toys, or just carries them around the house, but not with this cash register.
I think it would be better suited for a child younger than 2 years, as my son's interest was not held with this toy.
The way the coins go into the slots is a little strange, as there is a "slot" at the top, but the coins have to go in each correct size hole in the front. The slot at the top sends the coins to the side change area, which is confusing, as you put the coins into the cash register and they just come out as change rather than going into the machine.
I was thinking it would be a little more entertaining when I read the description, but was unhappily surprised at how simple and non-entertaining this toy is.
I may look for another one that beeps or has some sort of sound which may better keep my son's interest.

It's okay

The first one we bought, only 3 shapes would pop from day one. Returned that one. Bought another which worked for 3 days, then no shapes pop. Unfortunately, very bad quality, so can not recommend to anyone.

Fun toy, does not work.
