If you are looking for a classic, durable outdoor play staple, the Green Turtle Sandbox is a fantastic choice for the 1–6 age range. Here's a breakdown of our experience setting it up and how our toddler likes it.
🛠️ Assembly %26 Setup
While the design looks simple, keep in mind that it does require a bit of "elbow grease" to get started:
• Teamwork Required: The instructions recommend two people for assembly, which we found to be accurate. It makes aligning the pieces much easier.
• Tools Needed: You will need to screw the components together according to the manual to ensure it's sturdy and weather-resistant.
• The Finishing Touch: Once assembled, we filled it with standard play sand, and it was ready for action!
🎈 Why We Love It
Our 2-year-old is absolutely obsessed with her new outdoor play area. Here are the highlights:
• Built-in Seating: My favorite feature is the design of the "turtle legs." They act as perfect little molded-in benches, giving kids a place to sit comfortably without having to sit directly in the sand.
• Social Space: Even though it's compact enough for a backyard, there is surprisingly enough space for multiple children to gather around and play together. It's been great for playdates!

Love it!  Took me personally 45 minutes to assemble but I took my time.  Well made.  Looks like it will hold up to 4 bags of play sand (100 lbs.)  but I think I'll start out with 2 bags so my one year old will not throw all the sand out accidently or on purpose.  As she grows older, we can add 2 more bags.  I like the tether on the lid so the wind won't blow it off.  The lid will keep the leaves and debris out as well as keep the cat and dog out of it when not in use.

Doesnt read that it comes in pieces and needs put together, I've never seen a little tykes green turtle  sandbox that didnt come in 1 piece bottom and 1 piece top, this is several pieces you  snap together and the material is thinner, so how long will this last! I do not recommend.

I returned it unopened because I did not realize it was not the original one piece turtle. It has to be assembled. So I’m posting this review in hopes others won’t have the same misunderstanding.

Not the original!

Bought this and had to assemble it.  The panels are flimsy making it a pain to snap together. After assembled, it seemed substantial enough to serve the purpose but not nearly the quality of the old Little Tikes single molded piece with a smooth flat bottom.

They dont make them like they used to

I have bought these turtle sand boxes for years as children came and grandkids came.  This is the cheaply made I have ever seen.  We are going to have to take the sand out and glue the bottom section because it came apart with 20 pounds of sand.

Love online shopping at Walmart. Order on time and will come the same day!  This review is not for Walmart but product itself and little tikes. 

Horrible quality! I loved little tikes due to the durability and years to pass down generation to generation. This sandbox will not last. It’s flimsy! 
Assembly was horrible as the pieces didn’t even line up properly to snap. 

I understand putting products in smaller pieces in a box to put more product on the sleeves but do better. Bring back the original product made. 

People shouldn’t have to search online to find  the vintage little tikes for the stability. 

The slide and now the sandbox has me rethinking little tikes. Again flimsy plastic that I don’t trust my granddaughter playing on or other children. The product will crack more easily than those tiny fingers and toes will get pinched by it.

Flimsy

This is not the same 90's turtle sandbox that lived for generations in the backyard. This thing is very poor quality and will not stand the test of time.

Very disappointing

Had to be  put  together .. woukd not stay snapped together.. cover pieces woukd not even fit together.. bought this years ago for my own kids and it was a solid  piece .. poor quality now.. should of known when it came in a small box.. very disappointed.. returned

Do not buy this. It honestly doesn’t deserve 1 star. It is cheaply made. It comes in 8 pieces that you should “snap” together and doesn’t stay snapped. We tried putting it together on both grass and concrete and it doesn’t make a difference. It comes with no hardware to secure it. Don’t waste your money.
