I named this skillet Big Bertha, because she is strong, steady, and always comes through. This Lodge 10.25” cast iron pan has quickly become one of my most reliable pieces in the kitchen. It's heavy-duty, holds heat like a champ, and gives me that beautiful sear I can't get from thinner pans.
What I love:
	•	Reliable heat   great sear: Once it heats up, it stays hot. Perfect for browning meat, skillet meals, and anything you want crispy edges on.
	•	Pre-seasoned and ready to go: I washed, dried, and lightly oiled it before first use, and it performed well right away.
	•	Versatile: Stove-top to oven without a problem—great when you want to sear first and finish cooking in the oven.
	•	Better with use: The more I cook with it, the easier it gets to clean and the smoother the surface feels.

Good to know:
	•	It's heavy, so I use two hands when moving it, especially when it's hot.
	•	Like any cast iron, it does best with simple care: don't soak it, dry it immediately, and rub a tiny bit of oil after cleaning.
Overall, this skillet is the definition of a kitchen workhorse. If you want a pan that's dependable, cooks evenly, and will last a long time, Big Bertha is worth it.

I was using a non stick frying pan to fry meats. But I noticed right away this lodge frying pan held the heat more evenly and the fried chicken was more evenly, golden browned. There were no hot spots in the pan causing burning. The thicker pan seemed to make a big difference. 
But the pan itself is quite heavy to me and this is not the biggest one. The helper handle did make it easier to carry and maneuver while on the stove.

Love the pan! Made eggs today came out perfectly! I prefer to season it with avocado oil since it has a high smoke point as opposed to vegetable oil. Easy to do and food tastes great.

Fantastic pam

So I purchased this particular brand because as you can see, it has less warnings about having hard metals comparatively to the other options offered by Walmart. I've been using this pan for about two months. I've had zero issues with it. Can 100% verify it comes preseasoned. Mine didn't rust but I actually know how to take care of it if you leave it wet or let it just air dry it will rust so keep that in mind.

Will last a lifetime

I have my Great Grandmother's cast iron set.  Have been using them for decades, no problems.  I've devloped arthritis in my hand and they've become too heavy for me.  I still want to cook with cast iron so I decided to try one of these.  It is pre seasoned but not immediately non stick.  I cleaned and cooked a pack of bacon first thing and have made breakfast in it nearly every morning.  So far so good. I'm sure I'll be more from Lodge.  I really like it so far.

Perfect Size and Weight

I really like this skillet for the price. I plan on buying the other sizes. I've only used this skillet a few times so it's not very seasoned but time and more using the skillet will get the seasoning there.

Good quality skillet for good price

I have 2 other different size Lodge cast iron skillets they are the best. I had one that was a cheap cast that was exactly what it was cheap. Lodge Cast Iron is the best way to go!

Lodge is the Best Cast Iron

it's really good skillet but you need to keep seasoning and get it seasoning where it won't start sticking every time you use it need to clean it put oil back in and put it back in the oven on 450 and let it stay on there for I do that every day till it gets season real good

Look at another brand!  The bottom of this skillet is gravelly, not smooth!  It's hard to scramble eggs and even harder to clean it.  It rusted after one washing and I hand dried it.  I had to reseason it!   The handle is way too short too!

My grandmother had cast-iron skillets, and I don't ever remember them being a pain in the butt. This one, everything sticks to, and I don't notice a difference in how it cooks. I really wanted a good cast-iron skillet and chose this based on other reviews. I hate it. I'm gonna spend the extra money and invest in a really good one.
