This has some girth to hit! Lodge is a proven brand that I've used for years! Consistent, distributed heat with no  ‘dead' spots and because of the weight, that helper handle comes in very handy! Great for pancakes, omelets and stews! Easy to clean. Will last you forever!

Lodge seasoned 12” Cast Iron Skillet

For those who have never used cast iron, it does have a bit of a learning curve. However, I have found a fondness for cast iron and all the seasoning, cooking, and nostalgic feel of using it. My I got a 12 and an 8 for omlettes and my eggs do not stick!  There's alot of information on seasoning out there, and once you find the methods that work for you, you'll never have to worry about another pan again. This is for life.

Cast Iron Is amazing

Great pan with a lot of uses. Perfectly non-stick if heated properly. I clean it with a small plastic brush, and everything comes right off.  It is a little heavy. I recommend you have good silicon gloves. I also have the Lodge silicon handle cover which is very useful with this hot pan. The pan is a great deal and should last a lifetime.

Great cast iron pan

I'm so happy I purchased this skillet! I lost Daddy's cast iron skillet due to an accident. It took me a couple years to even think about replacing it. I miss my daddy so much!! I'm so happy with this skillet due to its functionality. The seasoning works great and the pan meets my needs perfectly!

Lodge! It's very hard to find good, quality, cast iron pots and pans that stand up to Southern living. When the ones that were another brand have passed thru the families , never enough of the other generations I thought I'd never find good Cast Iron Pans again. Wrong. Thank You Lodge for the quality! The pre seasoned, the high heat cook over the open fire, to a cake of corn bread. Us Southern people love our cornbread not to stick. I Love them and will buy more. Always Lodge.. It will be the family tradition and passed down now for generations

High quality, even cooking, absolutely worth buying! Easy as ever cleaning!Husband can use metal utensils and not destroy it and cooks outside, on the grill's side burner, so no bacon smell or grease inside thr house, for instance. I have no doubt it wil last for generations, as one would expect. So, its priced extremely well and qualty would rival or surpsss some of the more expensive brands. He loves it and I love it for saving my non-stick  wear at least a little longer!
I also bought him a titanium cutting board. He has been thrilled with both, I appreciate them as well but I'll buy additional for inside and let him enjoy his outdoor 'grill kitchen'

Superb Quality,A  Price Value

I bought this cast iron, seasoned it as recommended, but it leaves some brown residue when cooking in it. I haven't used it since. It's very heavy duty, though. I just need to figure out how to not make the food stick. I've heard nothing but good things about these.

it's nice and heavy. food sticks instantly. need lots of oil to try not to stick. needs another dose of pre season. maybe then it will be good. right now. not pleased

My grandmother had cast-iron skillets, and I don't ever remember them being a pain in the butt. This one, everything sticks to, and I don't notice a difference in how it cooks. I really wanted a good cast-iron skillet and chose this based on other reviews. I hate it. I'm gonna spend the extra money and invest in a really good one.

Do not recommend.

The skillet was not seasoned at all.  First time cooking a Flank steak for only 4 minutes each side  per recipe 4  minutes and there was so much burn on food that it took days to scrape it off.  Very disappointed as this was a highly rated Skillet.
