Build Quality

Lodge wins again (or really, you win!) with this single patty press! It is easy to use, easy to clean, and does the job :)

Perfect patty press

walmart.com

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Lodge hamburger press is of the excellent quality expected from Lodge products. It is cast iron and should last a lifetime if cared for properly. The lip around the bottom edge creates the perfect thickness for your burger. It is made in USA and is priced competitively. I am very happy with this purchase.

Great Hamburger Press

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Lodge quality, heavy enough to get an even sear on steaks and also making smash burgers!

Solid Lodge Quality!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Press is great for making smashburgers. I would have rated 5 stars but the handle makes you hold on to the press inside the skillet and grease pops up on your hand. I should have bought the 8 inch press. The 6.25 inch does get the job done, it's heavy.

Great for smashburgers.

Inside is hollow like a cooking lid. So this might be good for after smashing then covering the burgers with these.

Hollow

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] liked-heavy weight, sturdy disliked- a little too wide

lodge burger press

We wanted to use for smash burger, but inside is not completely flat like we thought, so we decided on a different one

Not flat

This “press” has a lip around the edge of the press so that it would rest ABOVE a smash burger instead of pressing it. I suppose you could use it for much thicker burgers, but that half inch lip makes this press useless for the purpose for which I bought it. Lodge makes wonderful cast iron products, but this press is poor designed for the intended purpose.

NOT for smash burgers!

this is not a bigger press. it is constructed more like a lid to a pot. it has a large rim around the bottom side that limits the ability to press a burger. The thinnest you could possibly get on a burger is 5/16 of an inch , which is way too thick for a smash burger. do yourself a favor, and either buy a different brand or buy their bacon press and just use it for your burgers.

this is not a burger press

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The edges of the press stick way too far out, so the burger patties don't even get flat enough. This would make the patty the thickness of a regular burger size.

Edges too thick.

Lodge 6.25 Inch Burger Press cast iron press with a 6.3-inch diameter and curved handle, featuring a seasoned black surface and embossed Lodge logo, designed for making evenly shaped burger patties with a restaurant-quality sear, also suitable for pressing sandwiches or bacon.
