Arrived on time. Excellent little griddle. The following is not necessary but it's what I like to do - I'll add my personal finishing touches (minimal edge filing; knocking down surface bumps with a round knife sharpening puck; annealing on top of stove so that additional seasoning adheres to the pan; seasoning at least 3 times in my toaster oven (no need to use stove oven when this will fit in toaster oven) and then shipping it out to a friend as a gift. Guess you can tell I love cast iron...  For those of you who are new to cast iron  or for those who are used to smooth cast iron of yesteryear you are going to be met with a somewhat pebbly surface. You can sand it or just knock down the bumps or leave it as it is.  But no matter how smooth or rough the surface is, everything will stick (especially anything with sugar in it -even bacon)  if the pan is not well seasoned. So remember to use a little oil as you break in your pans. And remember that cast iron rusts. The factory seasoning is no more than enough to prevent rust while in transit to consumers.  Please don't throw away a pan because it rusts. It is simply reverting back to it's original state of iron oxide. I have learned a lot thru trial and error and the internet...Lot of rambling for such a little griddle. But I shipped an 8” Ozark Trail skillet to my friend and she has been flooding me with photos of her meals.  But she had some difficulty with her grilled cheese sandwich due to the sidewalls of the pan. THIS LODGE GRIDDLE WILL BE PERFECT!  I could have just had Walmart deliver this pan to her but I would have lost out on giving a gift that is truly special right out of the box lol.

I was looking forward to this item, but seems instead of a brand new product I received what appears to be a sample item or possibly used??.  It did not come with the Lodge yellow card that provides use and care instructions.  Wish I could count on a reorder to not have this one sent to me again.
