Remembered my grandmother using this product and she never had to wash it.  I cooked a 3-pound bone-in chuck roast that was very tender and juicy, plus nothing stuck to the pot.  Wiped it out with a paper towel and oiled it.  The only downside is the Dutch oven is pretty heavy.

This cast iron dutch oven will be in our family for generations to come. I like being able to order American made products. Several family members will be using this dutch oven. It was shipped in a timely manner. I will be ordering more cast iron products in the near future and will be ordering them through Walmart.

Family Shared Item

I had forgotten how wonderful a dutch oven is to cook with. Retains so much more moisture than other means of cooking that you will be inclined to use more liquid than you will need. Stays warm a long time and is hot all over. Person needs to be aware of that. Some instructions with purchase is recommended for first time users so they don't accidently burn themselves. I went with this rustic look as it is indestructible. Enamel coverings are prettier but can be damaged during cooking and cleaning.

great product great price

I love all of my Lodge cast iron cookware.  It truly is none stick.  When I get my new pieces, I wash them in hot water, dry, coat with oil and put in the oven at 350 for an hour even though they come preseasoned.   Lodge is the only cast iron made in the USA.  The 7 quart Dutch oven's lid fits the 12 inch skillet.  They are perfect for Artisan breads.

Love my cast iron

Fast shipping. Easy pickup. Good price for good product. Heavy but non stick and last forever...
One issue though: the picture has no pouring spouts but they shipped me one with pouring spouts. I like the one is the picture better... Please post what you sell, and sell what you post. Specially for online products, when consumers have no chance to inspect what they buy before hand.

Good product good price

It's very well made - no defects. Heavyweight cast iron - no skimping in manufacture. Lid and pot fit together like a hand & glove. Liquids stay inside while cooking in the oven - no dripping even when full to 1/2" from the top. Just made some baked beans and the only problem was the oven rack was bending a lot. The don't make stoves like they used to.

I recommend this item whole-heartedly. Nice find at Walmart !

Nice heavy duty cast iron !

I've been baking sourdough bread for a year with my le crueset enameled cast iron . It left a dark stain on them that is very hard to remove. Using this Lodge Dutch oven is amazing !! Great all around heat distribution and my loaves come out to perfection. And I can use my metal scrub towel to clean it out safely !
I just purchased the 5 qt. For smaller loaves. I LOVE the Lodge brand and own several pans. I know it's top quality because it's made in the US.

Best Dutch oven for sourdough bread!

Lodge brand is the best made longest lasting cast iron in the world! i have every piece Ive purchased in the last 48 years! I have aged but it just keeps getting better! This is my second dutch oven (The other one has feet). I have used them in the house, camping, and even smoking/grilling. My friends jok1 qe about who's getting them in my will!  I think they're more expensive but you cannot argue with proven quality. I will not buy any other brand. They make the statement regarding passing them down and thats the truth! Thank you Lodge for a tried and true product from a company over 100 years old!

I love cooking with cast iron, and I own a lot of Lodge products; everything from cast iron, to porcelain, to steel, and it would be safe to say that there is not a single one that do not like. This Dutch oven is no exception, the day after I got it I cooked a six plus pound pot roast, and needless to say it came out perfect.

I would have given this a full five star rating, however, with my last couple Lodge purchases I have noticed that the factory seasoning has not been up to par. In this case, the telltale signs of oxidation appeared immediately after I cleaned it. This is not a big deal for me since I religiously apply an ultra-thin coat of cooking oil to my cast iron immediately after cleaning. Unfortunately, it does indicate a fault in Lodge's factory seasoning process, which seems to be a more recent problem since none of the Lodge Logic products that I purchased right after they introduced the process exhibit any rust whatsoever. Hopefully they are aware of this issue, and will correct it straightaway. Until then, don't fear buying, if you take care of it as instructed, it will provide many generations of great cooking.

It's Lodge Cast Iron... 'nough said

Walmart isn't the blame for this mistake. The dutch oven that is pictured is not the one that I received. They have recently changed this particular pot to the one pictured but are still selling the old ones until they are sold out. I called Lodge to complain that the pot was wrong and they were hesitant at first and told me that I just received the old pot and to return it to Walmart but after complaining more and telling them I want my shipping and handling back then they (Lodge) agreed to send me a UPS Label so I can return the pot to them and they will send me the one that is pictured.(I'm still waiting on the Label). On the other hand, great job Walmart the price was great and it arrived the day it was scheduled to arrive.
