An excellent cookware. It requires very little maintenance. It cooks evenly whether on top of the stove or in it. The Dutch oven is non stick as long as you apply a little butter or vegetable oil. or cooking spray. The one thing I would highly recommend is never use metal utensils in it. The enamel glass finish will be damaged over time and everything will begin to stick. A lesson I had to learn the hard way .

I love Lodge products and these enamel are even better and prettier! They are great to cook in as they are so versatile, from stovetop to oven! They cook evenly and clean like a dream and don't need to be seasoned with every use.  I love it!

Lodge Cast Iron Enamel

Its my first time use this pot. I made soup, deep fry and stirred fried, it came out perfect. The soup was amazing, I already told my friend to get one. When cooking , only need to use medium to slow heat. The pot needs to take care, dont wash with cold water in hot pot, and dry the pot with stove, after washing . put on some oil spread on it. Its done and Really easy.

Easy to cook and take care!

This is my first Lodge Enamel Cast Iron 7 5 Quart French Oven.
I plan on buying a few more different sizes.
This one when it's full of pot roast and fixings made my oven rack bow a little.
I'm going to set it on top of a large rectangle cooking pan next time to even out it's weight. The oven roast was wonderful.
I also made homemade Chicken noodle soup on the stove top and I was amazed at how the pot held the steam in. I don't know how I even got by with out this pot.

Happy to have it!

I've cooked with cast iron in the past for fried chicken and the like. I've had my eye on one of the enameled pots for some time but I can't justify spending that kind of money if there is something comparable for less and has a good warranty. Lodge is a reputable firm. That said, this pot is everything they say it is. So far I've made some wonderful stews, braised dishes and although it is a bit heavy, the results are terrific. The heating is steady and even with no hotspots.
You do have to follow the care instructions for these kinds of vessels - wood or other non-metal utensils, no metal scrubbing pads and I find just storing it in its original box and shipping bumpers is likely the best route to avoid it being scratched and bumped by my other pans.
If you are seeking a versatile pot capable of a wide range of cooking techniques then you will enjoy this product. Happy Cooking!

Expensive Cast Iron Pots Have Nothing on this one

The Lodge 3-quart Dutch oven is without a doubt one of the best purchases I have made. First, it was priced well below many other brands, so it was a real bargain. Second, it is of a good size for everything from frying chicken to making stir fry or even baking bread, and is not too heavy to handle, even though it is made of cast iron. Third, it is a quality built piece of cookware that will be around for many years. And fourth, it is truly beautiful, and as I said in the summary, a beautiful asset to my kitchen.

Have had the 6-qt for 5 years and am extremely happy with it. Purchased the 7.5 qt but think the 6 qt is probably more than adequate considering the cost difference. Pros: use on top of the stove and in the oven, nice colors, pretty good seal when used as a dutch oven. Cons: heavy (as expected), take care not to use metal utensils because of interior scratches, wish top handle wasn't metal because it gets HOT.

Great product for the price

It's very heavy to lift and maneuver. If you have arthritis, this pot would not be for you. Directions say not to use over high heat, which means you have to sear roast and brown vegetables in a skillet, then transfer to the pot (unless you ignore the directions like I did and just use medium heat). A pleasant surprise was how easy the enamel interior was to clean after 5 hours of cooking pot roast.  Directions also say to save the little rubber bumpers that come with the packing "for storage." Probably means the lid and/or rim tend to chip if banged together.  I have never had much luck with crockpot cooking for some reason, so for me this pot did the job well enough, browning tough meat and then braising it in the oven. The red finish is a very pretty color, not blue-blood red but a little more on the orange side.

Heavy, easy to clean, pretty color

Lodge makes a terrific cast iron, but this smaller Dutch oven is round on the bottom so not good for frying as I was hoping. It also seems to weigh almost the same as the 5-quart. I threw the box away, or I would return it.

Good for stews, not for frying

When the dutch oven arrived it looked like it had suffered a fall or had been knocked around because a large part of the enamel was chipping off. Be wary of ordering when Walmart packages a heavy (yet somewhat fragile) object in nothing but a cardboard box.
