This is the ultimate cooking tool when going camping. My wife and I made beef stew and chili while we were camping. It turned out great. Used it right over the open fire. Cleaning is a snap. Just drop it into the fire and let the fire burn everything out of it. Then, scrape out the bits that are left, use a bit of the large soap, rinse, and then spray the seasoning spray. So easy! And it makes amazing food.

Lodge does make some great cast iron and dutch oven cookware. This 5 quart Camp Dutch oven is no exception. It is well built and will provide me with many decades of service. On a side note, it does say it is pre-seasoned. Don't be fooled by this. That means it has maybe 1 coat of seasoning on it. After a lot of study, I have relied on this method of seasoning all of my cast iron and dutch oven products and it works great! Give it a try and do it BEFORE you start cooking in any of them. Or google chemistry of cast iron or cast iron seasoning with flax seed, but her article gives great instructions.

Great Camp dutch oven!

Nothing to dislike. This is a welcome addition to my outdoor campfire kitchen. I already bought the 12” Lodge Dutch oven (deep) on a visit to the Lodge factory. I added an 8” Dutch oven to cook bread, plus a standard 10” one. This 10” model (deep) is needed for cooking casseroles with coals. It's a Lodge, made in South Pittsburgh, TN. USA all the way! These beauties really elevate the outdoor cooking experience. I also have the Lodge Dutch oven cook table. Very handy piece of kit.

it's a lodge product, american made and of excellent quality. we use these with the scouts. these come in a variety of sizes, so figure out what size you need and just make sure you buy a LODGE brand.

This oven works great for cookouts or home use. The shape of the lid gives an added benefit by allowing hot coals to be placed on top for baking. Lodge had always been a great brand and this dutch oven is proof - if you want the best in campfire cookware, trust Lodge!

Used it to make Beef Stew. Worked perfect. Up next, biscuits and then peach cobbler. We had enough stew for 4 people. Clean up was not bad either. Love it!!!
