This is a great way to have the best of both a grill and flat top cooking on the outdoor grill. This piece fits really nicely on 26” grill boxes and is a comfortable weight. It's roomy and is easy to clean and can be stored easily in the kitchen as well as the grill. I did get a partial flat top for my new grill and had to return it because it was too big to store and too HEAVY to move around. This Lodge platter fits the bill for having a flat top surface on the grill and stove top. Seers steak nicely with grill running at 500 degrees F. The manufacturer of this grill recommends not taking the heat up 600 F when using cast iron. Manufacturer recommends that you turn the grill grate upside down when using a cast iron vessel on top of the grates. Love this piece!!!

Great Flat Top Option for Smaller Grills

walmart.com

Received this platter last week and have already used it multiple times.
It is a little smaller than a regular cookie sheet, so be prepared to bake in multiple batches. I always season cast iron products myself before using them. I season on a outdoor grill with vegetable shortening, which works well for me.
So far I am very pleased with this platter, everything slides off easily after baking.
Due to the smaller size this platter is not heavy.
There are different sizes of this platter, so make sure you look carefully at the item description before ordering.
I would definitely recommend this.

Perfect!

I am and have been a cast iron cooker for many years.....just needed to add this piece to my collection.....thanks for the wonderful offer.....

great pan

A great product in the image of the entire Lodge brand. Once the plate is well knuckled, it no longer needs parchment paper. Substantial savings for the wallet and the planet.

All right.

I put it on the barbecue grill and grill vegetables, sausage and onions, chicken breasts, etc while I grill next to it. I also take foods off a little early to finish cooking in the platter. Because it is cast iron, nothing sticks. It is perfect.

Perfect

Crazy about this

Great heavy duty pan, this will bake, many a bisquit in my famly for years to come. Love all Lodge stuff.

This is a pan that will last a lifetime.

I love cooking my new cast iron pan. I am a cast iron lodge brand. And for sure it will last long and probably passing to my kids in the future.

happy and very satisfied

This is a high quality platter that can be used as a griddle on the grill or as a warmed up serving platter that can keep food warm far longer than other metal pans. It is not as heavy as a pan so it is lighter and easier to maneuver. Although the platter is advertised as 12X15, the usable space is really about 10X11 so it is far smaller than you think. The side rim handles accounted for the large measurement. So, this platter does not feel "jumbo".

Great quality but smaller than expected

I tried to use this platter on the stove, but it created a hot spot right in the middle of the pan
And it would not even brown the meat on the outer edge of the pan. But I was able to put it in the oven and everything turned out perfect.. True Cooking size of this pan is 10 inches X 12 inches

Yes I will keep both of these pan (bought 2) and they will last a long long time

Now if you have a stove where the burners are closer together it would work great on the stove
But I am happy with the Oven , grill and open pit cooking that it will provide

Great in OVen But

I wanted a baking plate to bake cookies, I was happy when I found this Lodge Jumbo Platter. I ordered two of them.
I used one of them in oven for baking cookies.
I like cast iron cookware and I know very well how to take care of them.
I didn't use any soap to clean this platter, just washed under clean water, dried it and seasoned with cooking oil.
After each use and washing, when I rubbed the platter with paper towel, the paper towel came out all black, the black from the platter came off onto the paper towel. I was worried if the black stuff from the platter would get into the food.
So I returned them.

disppointed... black stuff coming off the platter
