I have used this twice so far and I love it. Steaks are delicious and taste like they have been cooked on a grill. This is my first cast iron cookware and I plan to use it a lot during hunting season. After being at camp last deer season, a lady uses cast iron skillets all the time to prepare our meals and the food is always tasty. This is the reason I purchased one. I highly recommend this product to anyone who wants something that will last for years with proper care.

This product is well worth the money spent! This is our first attempt with indoor grilling; and we are very happy with the purchase. The product is very well made, and gives an excellent performance, especially if you're new to the indoor grilling process. WARNING; it is quite heavy so be careful when handling.

wonderful,heavy duty cast iron pan w even allover heat,i leave mine on the stove all the time however, i had to switch sides of the stove as the side where the oven heat comes out creates alil moisture and rusts the pan,otherwise cant wait to get more lodge cookware

great pan

I love this thing!  My mother had one when I was growing up and I would use it a lot. Since then she got rid of it I found that out when I called her and asked if she still wanted it and would be willing to part with it haha. I almost paid double the price for this piece of cookware from the company Lodge itself before I found this wonderful bargain!  This is the cheapest you'll find it anywhere on the web and it works like a dream. I highly recommend this product to anyone interested in purchasing it.  The day I got it, I made delicious grilled asparagus.

I purchased this for my husband who loves to cook! He uses it EVERYDAY now. It is sturdy, versatile and well worth the money spent. What made it even better is that we didn't spend a lot of money on it. One piece of advice is to rub a VERY SMALL AMOUNT of oil on the cast iron when not in use as that prolongs the life of cast iron.

EXCEPTIONAL!!

This griddle covers both burners whereas the standard Lodge griddle is too short and does not do so. My only dislike is I wish it were a bit wider. I purchased this to replace a Teflon coated electric griddle and the electric griddle is wider leaving me only slightly disappointed with this one however the health benefit is totally worth it! Also great to have both smooth and seared surfaces in one cookware piece. I can use it on my cook top for pancakes or in the oven for steaks. Great value for sure. Be sure to give plenty of time to warm evenly on cook top before cooking your food.

Excellent product and made in U.S.A!

this grill is amazing for my glass top stove works Perfect It brings out the flavor even in my morning eggs it. cooks up home fries great. bottom line if you livie in an apt. house or even RV you need this grill as far as cooking meets thumbs up my sausage was great looking forward to flipping it over (the grill) and using the grill side for steaks, burgers and got dogs while keeping chili warm in a pot on the back part of the grill. I love this grill. Thank you Lodge and Walmart.

A great Grill

Haven't had this long enough to rate durability, but cast iron should last longer than I. Cleans up great. Love the idea of an indoor grill as outdoor grilling isn't always an option where I live. Use it several times a week and I'm really happy I bought it.

Wanted one for a while now

from all the reviews i thought things would just slide off it but it seems that is not one hundred percent the case and that some sticking does occur. I have learned to put some vegetable oil before grilling chicken but whatever i did my fish was totally destroyed---stuck! So I'm sticking to burgers which are greasy and help the seasoning process. We are big family so the size was absolutely amazing to grill once and for all and not having to clean it after grilling the first batch so as to do the second batch. In relation to other cast iron grills we used in the past this definitely gets a thumbs up and probably hopefully in time it will earn my 5 stars instead of the 4. Happy grilling

I've been using this griddle for about a month now almost everyday. The first thing I cooked was bacon following the directions on the bacon package to put in a cold pan...Wrong! With cast iron the pan must be preheated every time you use it for at least 5 minutes. The first batch of bacon stuck, the second batch was fine. With hints from the internet this is what I do: I leave it on my stove top 24/7, scrape off any bits of food with a steel spatula, wipe off while warm with a paper towel or kitchen rag (only use damp towel when it's extra dirty), and using a paper towel wipe on a small layer of Crisco then thoroughly wipe it off. I have only hosed it down in the sink twice with water only and a plastic scrubber and let it dry on a low burner for about 10 minutes then wiped down with Crisco. Sometimes I use butter/oil to cook with, but as long as I turn the item when it is ready to be turned, nothing has stuck. It gets hotter than my nonstick pans so I usually set my burner on '4' out of 7 settings. It browns food very well. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is it doesn't always heat evenly, but even my frying pans do that. I cook on a 12 yr old Frigidaire (cheap) gas stove and it covers my 2 grates perfectly. I haven't used the grill side yet. Price on Walmart was the cheapest. Recommend.
