I can hear the variances of the different instruments and the bass quality is what made me keep it. I had bought 3 other kinds and none of them gave me the sound and the power to push the volume and not distort the sound. The price point makes this a yes, yes, yes...

Great speakers for our computer. Had bought a set  that had 25watts of power but wasn't pleased with sound. These have 200watts of power and give great sound. Can here through out house without turning volume to max. Well worth the price.

Great speakers for the price

This system is incredible, and competes with systems costing far more! I ruled out the Logitech Z 506 because the clutter of six speakers in an already cluttered space made no sense. The Z 623 is the only system that's THX certified which is George Lucas' company certification, which means very high quality. With 200 Watts, I was concerned how well the system would play at very low volume late at night so I don't disturb my neighbors and was told that with THX cert. it will play great at any volume - it does! The THX is right on the speakers at the top in the photo.
It's whisper quiet on low and turns up very gradually and sounds great all the way! It's got so much power, I haven't gone above half volume except to test it and usually am between 1/3 and 1/2.
The huge sub woofer truly rumbles when it needs to with NO DISTORTION, and I usually have that at less than halfway also. Highs are crisp, and midtones are full. Tested it with Star Wars and it blew me away!
There are inputs for headphones and other audio devices as well.

i love this speaker system. I have it hooked up to my computer. The bass is simply amazing. Music is so much better than my other speakers. Well worth the price. Easy to hook up.

Awesome Bass!

oldie but goodie. probly one of the best high powered desktop speakers still available. the newer model has bluetooth, but one can easily add that to this unit. sound is excellent for gaming or casual music listening, with powerful bass which is easily adjustable at the right speaker. great classic, highly recommended!

Ligitech Z623 desktop speakers: the best

I've had this sound system for two years, at least and it still sounds great. The volume knob is a little scratchy through the speakers when you adjust it. Other than that. No problems

Powerful sound for the money.

Out of the box this could crank out some nasty bass. My parents were complaining and my sister was mad so yeah...This was epic xD I live in a 2900 sqft home and my sister heard it all the way in her room adn I'm on the opposite side of the house...So yeah. Complete awesomeness! A must buy!

This is the fourth set of speakers I bought for my small 32 inch home theater. The others cost $75 to $100, all sounded very good; the best were Genius SP-HF 1800As, an excellent choice for the money. Still, I wasn't satisfied and wanted more powerful speakers with more punch at the low end. I'm thrilled with the Z623s! The clarity, definition, and sound stage are remarkable. To my ears the quality of the audio equals that heard in a commercial movie theater. If you've planned to pay no more than $100 for speakers, I urge you to spend a modest $34 more and get these! It may be the smartest purchase you ever make.

No Better Speaker Value on the Planet

PROS:
*The subwoofer is compact in size, yet produces amazingly strong bass.
*The speakers may be small, but the mids and highs are impressive, very little distortion during loud action scenes and good/clear vocals, too.
*Very loud, I only need to turn volume up half-way and it's enough to fill a master bedroom.
*Price is very competitive and reasonable for what you get, a worthwhile investment no matter if it's for improved audio for movies, games or music.
*A definite upgrade for anyone looking for a simple 2.1 setup.

CONS:
*Main speakers' performance seems directional, less impressive in a large room.
*The cords are a little too short, sub and main speakers must be close together when attached to source (tv, blu-ray player, etc.).
*Sub isn't wireless, less convenient.
*No remote control included.

Despite the complaints, I still rate Logitech's z623 as being very good (4 of 5). Although I don't recommend using this as a main home theater set up in a large room, I do recommend it as an affordable 2.1 audio upgrade to be used with a bedroom HDTV or used with a desktop/laptop computer.

Purchased this from a third party seller on Walmart's website (Boardwalk Sellers)

Received a box that looked like it had been opened and taped back shut 5 different times. Speakers were loose in the box with the sub. Took bubble wrap off and speakers were scuffed. Went ahead and tried them out just to see if I liked the speakers and could purchase from a real seller instead of one trying to sell used as new. Power cable was basically tied up in a knot. Plugged everything in and tested - left speaker doesn't work. Made sure it was plugged in securely and find the power cable has a short in it. If I barely move it, whole set turns off.

The speakers may be great if they work, but the condition that mine came in is an absolute joke.
