This mouse moves over the pad smoothly. It also has different setting for different uses. This is my 2nd purchase because I keep knocking it off onto the concrete floor where my computer is.  I knocked it off at lease 2 dozens times or so. The last time it hit to hard and the buttons started acting up.  I bought a Black Web mouse but it kept changing while I was gaming and it was uncomfortable to use...thumb started chaffing and became sore.  But the G300s is perfect for my large hand.  And since it took so much punishment on the cement floor and kept working. I bought it again at a $10 savings.  So I would urge anyone who does gaming to give it a try.

This mouse has changed the way I play games on my computer. Each of the 9 buttons can be programmed to be any keystroke, or combination of keystrokes. The Logitech programming software is very easy to use. The build quality is great and the responsiveness is perfect. Highly recommended.

Worth every penny

I really like this mouse. It has enough weight to be good for reaction games, but not so heavy it wears the hand out. The thing I love most is that the extra buttons are on the top and not the side wear they can easily be desk popped by the thumb. I would say it could be a tad wider for bigger hands, but it still works great.

Good Mouse

I'm having a love-hate relationship with this mouse.
First of all, I'm NOT a gamer, so my review is based on OFFICE use.  I wanted a corded mouse with extra buttons, and I've had good experiences with Logitech mice before.

The buttons on this thing are on the TOP of the mouse, best worked by index and middle or ring fingers, not the thumb like I'm used to.   That is NOT where I wanted them, and I find them awkward.  I used it for a while, got annoyed, got another mouse, used it for a while, but that mouse wasn't Logitech quality, and I ended up switching back to this one...and it is slowly, well, I won't say I like it, but I dislike it less.

IF you are after finger-operated extra buttons, this might well be the mouse for you, but moving between this mouse and "normal" mice is a bit of a trick, so I'm really hesitant to recommend it for most users.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use this mouse at work for CAD design and not gaming. The four top buttons are perfect for programming commands as well as having three profiles easily switched by a special middle button.  The three profiles can be set for each application that they apply for. This is the GOOD.

Now for the BAD which is why I gave it just three stars as this mouse doesn't last very long maybe a year and a half.  The problem is the left button randomly performs a double click.  Do Google search for G300S problems for more information and how to clean the switches which is not so easy to do.

I'm thinking of ordering a couple more just for back up!

Good programmable button layout / Short Lifespan

i bought this for my son who is a huge gamer and is very picky and he loves this mouse i have not herd him complain one time i also purchased the replacement plan for 2 dollars because my son is so hard on stuff this is his 3rd mouse in 6 months so we will see if this one is better than the rest

great mouse

The first thing I noticed when I opened the box was that it is not wireless.  They should advertise if it is or it isn't. The picture has it with no wire, so I'm not thinking to look or ask.  It says nothing about it in the description. That is why I gave it a 3.  Just got it and when I try it I will edit my post or change it.

when it did want to work, it worked well. but it only lasted a year before the issues it had became the norm and I needed to toss it out and get a new one. After 30 years of I.T. this is the shortest lived mouse I have ever had.
