I needed better, fuller sound on my laptop for when I want to watch DVDs, stream movies, or listen to music. I intended just to use it when I'm travelling, but the speaker makes such full, clear sound and is so easy to use that I now use it almost daily. I can watch a movie in the laundry room, even with the washer and dryer running, and that makes the chores go so much faster. I haven't tried yet, but I expect it will also make online chat, Skype, etc. much better, too. I'm very happy with the speaker and with Walmart's quick delivery.

Does exactly what I hoped it would do

My laptop had very poor sound. This easy to use sound bar really changed that! Just plug it into a USB port and you are set to go. The sound seems to travel all around. It is louder than I expected. A must have if you want to use your laptop to view movies. It solved my problem of poor sound and really expanded my enjoyment of the media content available to me via my laptop. And it comes with a travel case. What's not to like? Get this product. I would highly recommend it.

just what I needed!

I was shocked to see such glowing reviews here and on other websites. The best thing about this speaker is the convenience and portability. It is also quite nice that there is only one wire, and it fits nicely on top of your laptop. The sound quality, however, is mediocre at best; definitely better than a laptop speaker, but not quite what I was hoping for. I don't think it is worth $50. I would give it 5 stars if it were half the price.

Nothing Special.

This is a fantastic portable solution for weak laptop sound. It has great sound for such a small unit.

Glad I bought it. I use it on the road, in the office, and when my kids have kicked me off my desktop at home.

If your looking for thumping bass forget about laptop soundbars because the drivers are just not big enough to push bass. But if you want really good midrange and highs this is the best laptop soundbar you can get and I read the reviews for all of them before I bought these for 39.95 at Target. If you want someting with more bass Poor Richards have the old logitech v20's for 35.95, however they are two seperate speakers not a soundbar and don't have very good midrange but have much better bass then these.

Good value

The Logitech Z305 sound bar is a surprisingly good addition to a Laptop or notebook. The maximum volume is perhaps not as loud as some might prefer and the bass is a little weak. Using a media player's graphic equalizer can help a little bit with boosting the bass, but not a lot. I like the spring clip that solidly connects the sound bar to the video display. If using a external flat screen, the USB cable length may be a trifle short. However over all, I give this sound bar a high 4 rating (I do not overrate with blanket "5's" unless a device is totally superior). So far I have not found a better sound bar and I believe most users would be happy with the Z305. I did buy 2 of them to test them on different old and new PCs against each other and the performance was still very good. I also compared it to some Altec Lansing BX1220s. The BX1220s could generate a slight increase in volume over the Z305, but I like the sound quality (highs/mids) for the Z305 better than the BX1220s. And of course the 1220s are individual speakers, not a sound bar.

I just picked up this product yesterday from the Site-To-Store counter.
All I have to say is that so far it is an excellent product. I bought this for same reasons as others. While I have a good laptop the speakers are horrible. I previously purchased two speakers to take with me so I could listen to music or watch Netflix and actually hear the sound. The previous ones I had were nice, but bulky, cordy, and cumbersome. I decided to try out this (after seeing it on ThinkGeek.com) and ordered it here (it was cheaper from Wal-Mart). The sound is crystal clear and loud. I am amazed at the quality and the volume this little bar posses. I am thoroughly impressed.

Works well on laptop, no power cords needed to get in the way. Sounds much better than laptop's onboard speakers and it's easy enough to take with you.

Great tor laptop

We have owned this speaker for a few months now and are very happy with the sound quality. Previously we had a different laptop speaker for about the same price as this one and it wasn't nearly as good. Love how the bar just snaps on top of the computer so it is out of the way. We would definately recommend to others, Great product for the price.

Very Happy with it

i plugged it into my laptop and the sound was good for about 1 hour and then the speakers just blew. i was only listening to youtube music videos and at first i was like "yes", this has really improved the sound but then all of a sudden the speakers started scratchin and poppin. i'm about to return it to walmart for a full refund. i'm mad and highly disappointed.

huge disappointment
