[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this for my friend's mom who is 94, who loves reading, but stopped reading due to not being able to read the small font on books.  It arrived today ... I think it is perfect. Instructions are great for installing batteries, adjusting height, etc.  It is light weight and should sit nicely on my friend's mom's lap with her holding her book underneath the magnifier.  I tried it myself and the enlarged font for reading is great, and it sits nicely on my lap.  The lighting feature is nice, too. The magnifier is very simple to operate, which will appeal to my friend's mom who doesn't like electronic gadgets (like a Kindle) ... so I hope she gets to resume her favorite thing to do ... reading books.

Should've got the $13 one

Too much glare with or without the light(s) It is not glass, made out of some other materials. Did not realized that. Like the stand and lighted magnifier but there is too much glare no matter where or how I use it.

97 year old father found it was inconvenient while in chair, probably would work well if one was sitting at the table or a desk area but not in his chair with a TV tray in front of him trying to manage it as well as as a book

It only covers the top half of a regular-size book page so it has to be continuously moved up and down as well as side to side. It is too much trouble to be helpful for reading. More money wasted. Wish I could find one that is really made to fit a full page on a book. But it is definitely not this one.
