So I read all of the reviews about this Mainstays 23 Piece Knife and Kitchen Tool Set with Wood Storage Block %26 Cutting Board and I am pleased to report that most of the gripes or negative remarks have been ironed out by the company. Nevertheless, I got it for $17.00 on a Black Friday Sale and could not be more pleased with my purchase as this is quite the bargain. All of the knives are pretty sturdy, the blades are SHARP and the scissors looks like a very good quality set. The thin cutting white cutting board comes in handy for outdoors by the BBQ grill. Don't hesitate to buy the set especially if you don't have a knife set to begin with, you will not be disappointed. :)

Absolutely love this set you get everything that you could possibly need the knives are all serrated and you get a cutting board measuring spoons and three spatulas game changer!

Amazing

We took the knife block out of the box and there was a chip in the block with a whole chunk of wood missing, we checked the box because a little superglue could do the trick and the piece that was broken off wasn't even in the box.  I know that's manufacturings issue but for how dull the knives are and the damaged block I wouldn't recommend.  Just splurge the extra $10 and get the one with then sharpener built in. Mainstay doesn't check their products well enough before packaging.

I mean you get what you pay for. I just moved into my own place and started fresh. These were highly attractive because of the price and the amount of stuff you get with it. But the knives are horrible lol. they all have little teeth so its a nightmare cutting meat! I like to trim the fat off of everything and the fat would get caught in the teeth so it was a constant battle. I ended up using a knife sharpener to shave the teeth down and that helped a lot.

The knives could be better; starts rusting in less than a month and are generally not very useful. Add money and get a better set of knives. I added a star because of the accompanying accessories, such as the spatula and thin chopping board, which are alright.

I seriously wanted to give the item a negative 5 stars. Brand new set out would not cut potatoes. I literally thought I was gonna cut my fingers or hand off while using multiple knives to cut a few potatoes. Absolutely the worst product I've ever used or purchased.

Disturbingly dangerous product

I really dislike these knives. the serrated edge is extremely difficult but they may work for cutting meats and not veggies. the wood block is really nice. the serrated edge is terrible to work with. if I would have realized this was a serrated edge knife set, I never would have bought it.

Don't buy or waste your time on these, genuinely. If you're a person who likes to look through the bad reviews first to see what the problems are with an item, it is infact true that these knives make it DIFFICULT to cut through any fruits or vegetables such as potatoes or apples (u have to force a lot of ur weight on them to even cut through, even then, the knives have teeth and make it cut uneven) All knives have teeth so it makes it hard to get a clean slice. They're also already rusting and I have only had them for about 3 months. If you're looking for a good, affordable knive set, DON'T buy this set, please choose another.

I don't see any of the review says that the knife have small teeth-like edges! I was so shocked when I found out the blade is not straight..it's like using a saw. This makes it hard to cut the veggies and meat especially! It's not even sharp. Trust me on this. Can I return this without the box though?

These are cheap, but terrible knives. They're not much better than trying to cut with butter knives. They filled a need when I needed something more than nothing and didn't have the time for the research or money for really good knives, but they are terrible.
