Great purchase at a great price

For the price, more than met my expectations. Was surprised just how heavy/sturdy it was assembled (55 lbs). It couldn't have been better packaged -- every corner of the shipping box had an extra piece of thick framing.  I found the instructions relatively easy to follow. I like the fact that the spacing for the floating shelves has so much flexibility with 1 inch spacing. 

But, be careful tapping the nails in when attaching the cardboard type backing - if you are off center you will damage the veneer.  The only negative was that one of the screws (long important ones) had no threads.  When I was finished putting it together I inserted it at the  very top of the unit but would like to have that final screw replaced.  I sent them an email but haven't heard anything from them.

The material was well packaged and I was able to receive it in perfect condition. The material easily chips though, so Iâd suggest assembling on a soft surface. It was somewhat easy to assemble although some parts were not numbered and were hard to figure out which wood piece to use. It looks really nice in a childâs bedroom.

Moneyâs worth

I waited to write a review to see how they hold up.  They are doing great, they hold all my crafts and hobby supplies from material, yarn, scrap booking paper, books, and so much more.  They also hold some of my wood supplies.  They shelves are holding a lot of weight and they are not drooping.  I would give it a 5 stars but, the back is very thin and flimsy, it is mainly for decoration.  Other than that I would recommend these, I am buying another set myself.

Great Shelves

It's pretty solid. I would say this is great for a kid's room, office, or basement. 

You might need to anchor to wall if you have kiddos around. 

Wouldn't make this my forever bookshelf. I don't know if it would survive a move. It is great once set up though.

Easy to put together. I don't really like it but my son loves it in his room.

BE PREPARED TO SPEND MORE TIME AND MONEY CAMS AND PINS TOO LOOSE UNSAFE USELESS BOUGHT 5 4IN A PACK L SHAPED METAL CLIPS COMES WITH SCREWS POWER DRILLED 2 PILOT HOLES FOR EACH CLIP HAND SCREWED IN THE ONLY WAY TO STURDY THIS THING WHEN YOU HAVE THINGS ON THE UNFIXED SHELVES WHOLE SHELF CAN ROLL FORWARD ROUND PINS TO REST SHELVES ON GONNA ROLL BACK WOOD COLOURED CARDBOARD ONLY 1 PIECE FIT SORT OF NAILED ON BOTTOM HALF COMES IN 4 JOINABLE SIDE PIECES. TO STACK ON TOP OF ONE ANOTHER. HAD ONE OF THESE BEFORE THAT TINY SKINNY ANTI TIP TAB AND 2 SCREWS NOT SAFE WITH SHELVES FULL BOOK SHELF HEAVY IT TOPPLED ON BOTH MY ADULT SON AND I GLAD NOT SMALL CHILD!  ORDERED SOME ANTI TIP FURNITURE STRAPS HAVENT COME YET 2 FOR TOP OF UNIT. SO I HAVE HAD TO SPEND ANOTHER $22 AND LOTS OF EXTRA TIME END RESULT NOT BAD TO LOOK AT GOING TO USE THOSE BROWN PLASTIC HOLE COVERS TO NEATEN IT UP. GOT IT TO TIDY AND ORGANIZE BEDROOM.

1. The wood parts were not all labelled.
2. The general construction of this item is flimsy compared to IKEAS.
3. THE SHELVES ARE NOT KNOCHED SO THEY FLIP AND FALL AND I HAD TO PUT PINNING SCREWS TO LOCK THE SHELVES IN PLACE SO THEY WOULD NOT TOPPLE WHEN THINGS WERE PLACRD ON THE SHELVES.
4. I HAVE TO REINFORCE THE WHOLE UNIT WITH A PIECE OF PLYWOOD PANEL BACKING TO MAKE IT SECURE AND A STURDY BOOKCASE. 
5. INSHORT THIS ITEM AS SOLD IS A CHEAP ITEM WHICH MUST BE REINFORCED TO BE SAFE AND USEFUL.

CHEAP BOOKCASE

The directions are a joke. I had to watch several youtube videos just to understand the drawings. I was missing parts, like cam bolts, that are necessary to put the thing together. Right now it is sitting on my floor because I can't put it together and have to now call the company and have them send me out a new piece. Says in the directions that stores do not carry parts.

Missing parts! Impossible directions!

Really cheaply made--It didn't come with all of the necessary parts. That's the usual for me when I order Mainstays products that you assemble yourself. If you require more parts, they charge you.  This'll be my last one.  Very unsatisfied. The look and feel of the wood was pretty nice, I'll admit, but it damages easily.

Go spend a little extra on a better brand.
