[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is at least my 4th Minn Kota over many years, so obviously I like the brand. it only arrived yesterday, so hasn't been field tested. My previous 2 were 50 %26 55 lb thrust and they provide good thrust for my 12' Hi-Laker. This model is a step up, however. I'm going to appreciate the variable speed vs. 5 forward, 3 reverse. The claim of up to 5 times the battery life is amazing an I'll be happy if it's actually only 2-3 times better. The built in battery meter on the top is another nice perk. I won't be able to get out on the water with it for another 10 days or so but I'm really looking forward to it!
