I attempted to install the kit without removing the deck but I ended up not being able to remove the blades by hand and had to take it to a shop where they had to use a tool to remove them. Once that was done, it was a very simple process.

Gets the job done

One of the instructions has a warning that comes after the instruction for dismantling the deck, the warning recommends marking down where one of the connections is made but comes after the part is disconnected. I recommend reading all of the instructions before you begin.

Good product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Everything came as ordered.  Difficult to install. Old blades were hard to get off.  New blades were easy to install as was the guide.  After installation the product worked very well.  Grass was cut and mulched inti very fine pieces.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The blades do a good job.  The plastic plug unit that keeps the mulched grass inside the mowing deck doesn't seal well.  As a result, mulched grass collects on the top and bottom edges of the plug and the hole for the plastic tab on the forward edge.  When I get the chance, will get a rubber bungee with metal hooks to try and hold plug closer against the metal deck housing.  The fit was not well engineered or designed.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The blades mulch pretty good. The main issue I have is the discharge cover. The metal are that is meant to hold it in place does not do the job well. I was having to constantly stop and readjust it because it would slip and the grass and leave would start shooting through the bottom where the cover was slipping. I eventually had to drill wholes and use guywire to make the cover stay down. This is a bad design.
Also, I did read and reread the instructions many times to be sure I had it installed correctly.

Works but needs extra parts to work correctly.
