Can be sharp and effective, but also prone to damage and wear.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This didnt exactly fit my machine. I suspect there were some minor changes to the deck between the manufacture of my machine and today. I was able to fit and secure it with the addition of 2 small screws on either end to get the plastic to snug up to the deck opening.

Mulching cover

Fit my Troy Bilt pony and much cheaper the Troy Bilt site.
Nice to have a even cut, old blades were in need of a change.

It does need to be “cleaned out” so to speak, the grass clippings will sometimes push hard enough against the chute block that it opens slightly but that doesn't bother me too much. It does a good job with the lawn and was easy to install.

the discharge chute cover could be designed a little better. there are times it comes loose or dislodges itself and blows grass out.

mulch kit

The blades are great but the side cover does not fit the deck for a good fit. Leaves fly out until it plugs up. I'll recommend with reservations.

Poorly engineered side cover

According to the person who installed it wasnt the right model for my mower, even though it was shown in the same offering as the mower. About the 3rd time we mowed it came apart.  Very frustrating!

This item sucks.  It is not worth the paper the invoice is printed on.  There are no instructions but even once you sort out mounting on-line, it simply does not do what it is supposed to do.

DON'T BUY!

The product does not secure properly to the mower deck and can come lose and suck the plug into the blades shooting shrapnel everywhere.  This happened to me on the first lawn I mowed after install.  Dangerous!
