Ease Of Use

My first thoughts on this saw , Great price on this saw as a used one would be close to this discounted new one. It came on the delivery date as promised. I purchased the premixed gas at Walmart as I will not use this saw unless storms blow down large limbs or trees on my property.
After adding gas and chain oil I followed the startup instructions and it fired up on the second crank. Fantastic start and it cut through a red oak tree that had fell during our last storm. I had to make a small adjustment on the chain as it felt too tight on the bar. I probably ran the saw for about 10 minutes it preformed great. The power level of the 42cc engine is good with the 18 inch bar.

Great Price - Great Saw

walmart.com

I was reluctant to buy this saw because I'm use to using Husqvarna and Stihl chainsaws, but I needed a lightweight saw for cutting limbs and small wood. This saw amazed me. It starts quick, and cuts as well as my bigger Husqvarna. It's lightweight and very powerful for its size. I'm very pleased

Little saw that cuts like a Big saw

Mine started up second pull, I used it let it sit for a while, started first pull next time.

What a great deal I got this 18” 42cc Troy Bilt gas chainsaw. I purchased this chainsaw in case there is an emergency that I need to utilize after severe weather storm results to some damage to my residential property. I that this chainsaw felt well built and it was not too heavy or bulky. The real test is how it cuts and how quickly it would starts after just one pull on the starter rope. I use to own a Poulon Pro chainsaw but only lasted after using it only 3 times before I had difficulty starting and to keep it on idle. It would just cut out! I just got rid of it and purchased this Troy Bilt 18” chainsaw.

For Emergencies

mostly built in USA, ran my previous troy built chainsaw over with my tractor, with a little duck tape and a little re bending, it is still working and cutting down trees with it, not sure how much longer it will last when I saw this sale on the make and model, so I bought it for backup, very impressed with this chainsaw mostly made in USA

Nice and easy to start and use

It is an easy starting saw with pretty decent power. im not sure if would have paid full retail for it but the $98 price i got was a steal.

Solid saw for the money, but a little heavier than my Stihl MS 180. I bought this on sale as a backup saw and it fires right up and runs good. I thought the Troy-BIlt would be more powerful than the Stihl as it has a considerably larger engine, but there about equal. It's OK, but I wouldn't buy it for my main saw. I've actually moved into 58v electric saws and I'm not going back.

Good as a second or backup saw

Don't buy this.
I know Troy-bilt products are usually really great. This saw was the exception. From the begining it was very hard to start. once it warmed up I figured it would get better, but it did not. After about 50-60 pulls it went back in the box and returned. I was using fresh ethanol free gas and oil mix.

Don't Buy this

After five cuts the chain fell off, and after an hour of taking it apart and back together 6 times, the chain no won't turn, regardless of the level of tension.

Worthless
