[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This movie is really funny. Lots of jokes throughout. There's enough little details in this flick that you might not notice on first viewing. Great for Elvira fans and anyone wanting to see a character-driven comedy. Definitely recommended.

A hilarious movie

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great transfer of the film. I have since gotten a UHD Player, so I'll be grabbing the 4K release as well since it's such a clean transfer. If all you have is Bluray then this copy is the best edition to get. Arrow is the Criterion of old horror movies, and while this is more horror adjascent, it's a welcome addition to the Arrow library. 

This film is by the guy who did the Pee Wee movies and follows Elvira, Mistress of the Macabre, on an adventure to her recently deceased relatives home, which she inherited. Elvira meets a colorful cast of characters in her new town, many of whom are not fond of her behavior or attire. She finds a book of spells in her new home and uses it to attempt revenge on some of the other townsfolk.

If you were a fan of Pee Wee's Big Adventure or Big Top Pee Wee, this movie will be right up your alley. Its filmed exacfly like those flicks, and if you were to replace Elvira with Pee Wee most of the gags and camera tricks would still work (not including jokes about Elvira's stature)

It is very well worth a look if you haven't, and if you have and didn't like it, this would be a good opportunity to give it another chance. Buy the UHD copy if you have a player. Otherwise, this is the cleanest transfer you'll find. Don't sleep on this classic.

Arrow has a release of David Lynch's movie Dune, which is also well worth checking out.
