I also have the mom jean in the melva wash in 24 so I bought these in 24 and the fit is consistent. I am normally a 25 so remember to size down-- all non-stretch denim will stretch out as it molds to your body. Give it a week to break in and they will be SUPER comfy. I am 5'3 athletic build (muscular booty and legs) and these are jeans are so flattering. More washes, please!

I am typically a 27 and the jeans fit exactly like they look in the pic when I tried them in a 27. But I would say they still run big because they were pretty big on the waist at that point. I actually sized down 2 sizes. I wear a lot of madewell jeans and always wear a 27. The 25 I ended up with fits great at the waist and is a little tight around my mid section but I look snatched so I don't care

Size down for a slimmer fit

For size reference, I'm usually an 18R/34 and am 5'5. This was my first pair of madewell denim so I didn't know what to expect sizing wise - so even though the other reviews said to order a size down, I reluctantly ordered my normal size and it fit perfectly! Not baggy at all and hit me right above the ankle (no need to cuff). 

I wouldn't say there is much stretch at all but the stiffer denim holds everything in nicely. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a good medium wash jean!

Looks great on plus size girls!

I have the other two washes of Mom Jeans and was really excited to see Madewell had a darker wash without holes. I will say that on the other two pairs I own in size 23, these are a little bigger in the waist. I do have a lot of extra fabric but a belt helps with this issue. Regardless of this discrepancy, I still love these jeans and I recommend them. As the previous reviewers state, they do run big. I am usually a size 24 but I sized down to a 23 and they fit well. For reference, I am 5ft, 105lbs and the inseam is good on me, but I still roll up my jeans so they can look "ankle length".

Great pair of jeans

This is my first pair of Madewell jeans and I will definitely buy another pair!! These jeans are super comfy and cute-perfect for cuffing and tucking in t-shirts. I'm 5'4" and weigh 140 lbs and usually wear a 27, but I bought a 26 per the advice of other reviews. Love love love them. They're a little tight in the hips but stretch with wear and fit my entire curvy body beautifully.

Great fit! Definitely would buy again

I am 5'5, 111 lbs and typically wear between a 24/25 jean depending on the style. After reading all the reviews, I ordered both a 24 and 23 just to be safe. After trying them both on, I stuck with the 23! I encourage you to choose whatever fits best at the waist, regardless of how stiff the legs might feel - the more you wear them, the more they stretch to fit comfortably! You can usually telL within an hour or two what they'll feel like long term. This Is an AMAZING pair of jeans and you won't be sorry you tried them!

Amazing if you size down!

I knew the momjean ran large from experience in the melva wash, but the listing for this wash didn't mention it like that page did, so I ordered my usual size and they were yuuuge, hilariously so in the waist. If you like the other momjeans, you'll love this, just remember to get your 'momjean' size!

Great, but size down!

First, the pros: The denim is soft and allows you to move which isn't always easy to find with 100% cotton jeans. Comfortable on, and the rise is HIIIIIIIGH. I really like this wash.

The cons: I'm an athletic hourglass and these jeans were somehow too big and too small at the same time. I'm a true 28 in Madewell pants/jeans (28.5 inch waist, 39 inch hips). I ordered a size 28 in this wash and a 27 in the Melva wash, and they fit almost exactly the same - huge in the waist and tight in the butt/upper thigh area (I expected this, but not the gaping waist!) I'm considering ordering a 26 just to see if the denim has enough give in the legs to stretch out to fit me.

Somehow both too big and too small?

I agree with the review "Possible manufacturing error." I LOVE the fit of these jeans. They are the perfect combination of trendy and classic.

HOWEVER, the front right pocket on my pair is not sewn in correctly. The stitching and lining shows no matter what I do. Unfortunately, this looks a little sloppy.

I noticed at first, but thought it was just a fluke. However, after wearing these jeans numerous times, it is now too late to return them, but it really bothers me. Admittedly it's probably not super noticeable to other people, but it drives me nuts.

These jeans are *SO* close to being perfect!

Almost perfect - poorly sewn pockets

Madewell, please get your sizing shiz together. I have the black momjeans (the ones with stretch) in a 27 and they are perfectly baggy, so I got these in a 27 as well. They fit awesome in the legs, but hilariously on my waist. I've literally never had a pair of jeans give me a "back gap" in my life until now, so I know it's not just my body type (my waist isn't even that thin compared to my hips). I then ordered a 26, and they fit on my waist but suffocate my thighs. I was soooo excited about the 12.5" rise because if the waist did fit properly, this would be such a flattering fit. Disappointed...please taper the waist more and keep sizes between dif washes of the same color consistent!!
