Each set has several double-sided token cards, a deck box and several cardboard punch out tokens. The box holds all 100 cards with card sleeves.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Magic The Gathering Starter Commander Deck can be played by those who haven't played it before.  It comes the rules & tips to play the game.  A game can last for hours so it can be played when you have want to spend lots of time with others, since it is a multiplayer game.  It comes with 100 cards, a fold up stock paper deck box, & 10 double sided token cards.  The deck comes with multiple characters & one foil etched legendary creature card.  This card game is for those who like to play role playing games & allows people to be creative.

Great starter deck

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I grabbed this for the young ones and they really enjoy it but really this is just a starter pack and it requires you to go buy more packs for them to fully enjoy the game,but non the less they still really enjoy playing it, i would recommend it to anyone who has kids that are int Magic: The gathering.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had a friend who played this when I was younger and taught me.  It is great to play if someone wants to play but is not familiar with the game, but you want to introduce them to it.  Makes it easier to explain.

MTG STARTER COMMANDER DECK SD2

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My son was interested in playing commander so I got this pack to start with. I have never played that kind of game so I was a little intimidated but saw that those are a good starting point.

To be honest, I am still confused about this game and not really a fan, but my son has since added a few other "stronger" packs to his collection and seems to like it (while it seems that his excitement has faded a little). 

From a printing/design standpoint, the quality of these cards is great, although I must say that the box it came in is not good and flimsy. 

If you/your kids (or gift recipient) don't really know where to start, these are a great place to start but expect to buy a lot more packs to complete the collection!

We are not into science fiction and there was so many different characters, new words, etc. that we just found it confusing.  I also don't like that the game is about casual warfare.  Would rather play a game that has more of a positive spin to it.  However if someone was into science fiction they may love the game.  Just not for us.
