I did recommend it and my grandson picked one up in another state. It's a great large cast-iron skillet. It's pretty heavy, but it certainly does the job..

walmart.com

Remember , skillets aren't supposed to be washed so don't let it touch water else it will rust in a day . Just wipe it off or google how to clean skillets . Mostly people wash it and then complain about rust and quality .. this product is perfect sized and it is what skillets are supposed to be . Heavy duty and perfect for patties etc . Not too small and not too big either .

Bought this cause I needed a little larger skillet. i compared it to the 12 in lodge and to be honest it was $34 cheaper and smoother. so at $14 thought I would give it a try. after 2 rounds of seasoning nothing sticks not even eggs. couldn't be happier. would buy again!

This is my first time owning an iron skillet... and I have to say that they really live up to their hype! I have a bad habit of throwing cold things into a hot skillet, but these guys hold their heat so it doesn't affect anything at all. I really like how it sears meat, and it is good for both stove top cooking and baking. I have an induction range, and it works just fine...

Excellent skillet for half the cost!

We purchased this for our daughter and she really likes it. It's really nice. It's not too heavy and it does hold the heat..

The web site descriptions says 12 Inch cooking size (even has a picture) but it is only 10" and 12" wide at the top. I would not have bought on loine if I knew it was only 10" as I have a couple already.

not as pictured

For me, I was surprised by the paper label that came with this Mainstays product that warned about the many different chemicals that I would be exposed to if I used this skillet. So I decided to return this skillet, and buy a brand of cast iron skillet that has a well-established, good reputation for cast iron products, and which did not list certain chemicals that had been listed by Mainstays. I don't know that there would be any serious issue using the Mainstays skillet, but I would always be thinking about the chemicals every time I used it.

Mainstays' warning about many chemicals in product

Like how solid it is, and how heat spread uniform, don'tike the heaviness while lifting with food items in. I leave it stovetop as i have more than 2 burners, so more lifting is avoided

Solid

I needed a cast-iron skillet to make cornbread for Thanksgiving. I happen to go online and found this one on sale. It is a very nice size skillet. It's not as heavy as I would like it to be or sturdy as I would like it to be, but it gets the job done. It is a good starter cast iron skillet.

STARTER SKILLET for the win

I heated the pot and it let off this horrible smell and the air became all cloudy. Looking at the product details it contains arsenic, magnesium...we have been coughing for a while now
