My opinion

Stock pot by Mainstay

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I love this pot! The size makes it perfect for large batch cooking. Due to its size, it's a bit harder to store, but not impossible. The lid has a small hole for steam, but be careful as the handle does get hot. I use this pot often as it's quite convenient for meal prep!

Handy and convenient!

influenster.com

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) This 16-quart Mainstays stock pot with glass lid is an excellent choice for family cooking. Made of stainless steel, it is sturdy, durable, and easy to clean. Its large capacity is perfect for soups, pasta, broths, or cooking meals in large quantities which is perfect for my big family and hungery stomaches! .The glass lid allows you to monitor cooking without losing heat. An excellent value for everyday use, I would recommend.

Wow!

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I'm really happy with this 16QT Mainstays stainless steel stock pot. The size is perfect for making large batches of soup, stews, pasta, chili, or stock, especially when cooking for family or meal prepping. The stainless steel feels sturdy and well-made, and it heats evenly on the stove.

I also really like the glass lid it's convenient to be able to check on food without lifting the lid and losing heat. The handles are solid and make it easy to move the pot, even when it's full (with oven mitts, of course).

For the price, this is an excellent value. It's simple, functional, and does exactly what it's supposed to do. If you need a large stock pot for everyday cooking or special occasions, this one is a great choice.

Perfect for large pots of soups!

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Great weight and size for a stock pot. It's surprisingly light for its size which makes a. If difference for large batches of stock. I appreciate having a clear lid to take a quick peek at how cooking is going. Will be looking at additional sizes for different purposes in the kitchen!

Functional and practical

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I recently received the Mainstays 16qt Stock Pot with Glass Lid as a complimentary product through my partnership with Influenster, and I've been putting it through its paces in my kitchen for the past couple of weeks. As someone who loves hosting family dinners and batch-cooking soups for the freezer, a reliable stock pot is a must-have. This one has quickly become a go-to for me, and here's why I appreciate it across key features like the lid, portability, safety, design, and weight—all based on real use.

The Lid: A Game-Changer for Monitoring Without Mess The tempered glass lid is hands-down my favorite part. It's see-through, so I can keep an eye on simmering sauces or boiling pasta without lifting it and letting steam escape, which saves energy and prevents splatters all over my stovetop. The steam vent is a smart touch—it releases pressure just enough to avoid boil-overs, and the stainless steel rim fits snugly without wobbling. After multiple uses, it hasn't fogged up excessively or cracked, even under high heat. If you're tired of guessing what's happening inside your pot, this lid makes cooking feel more intuitive and less chaotic.

Portability: Easy to Move from Stove to Table
At 16 quarts, this pot is generously sized for big meals (think chili for 8-10 people), but it's surprisingly portable. The dual bail handles—one on each side—offer a secure grip, whether I'm hauling it from the counter to the stove or straight to the table for serving. It's not awkwardly shaped like some deeper pots; the wide base keeps it stable during transport, and the handles stay cool enough to grab without a mitt for short moves. I've even taken it camping (with care), and it stacks neatly in my cabinet without dominating space.

Safety: Built for Worry-Free Cooking
Safety features here are thoughtful and practical. The aluminum construction heats evenly to reduce hot spots that could scorch food, and it's compatible with all cooktops, including induction (a relief for my mixed kitchen setup). The glass lid is heat-resistant up to 350°F, and the pot's non-reactive surface means no weird metallic tastes leaching into acidic foods like tomatoes. No sharp edges on the handles or rim, and the weight distribution feels balanced, minimizing slip risks. I've accidentally left it on a burner once (oops), and it cooled down without warping—solid peace of mind for busy cooks like me.

Design: Simple, Versatile, and Timeless
The overall design screams everyday functionality without frills. The brushed aluminum exterior resists fingerprints and scratches better than plain stainless, giving it a subtle, modern look that fits my open-shelf kitchen aesthetic. Inside, the smooth, non-stick-like surface (though it's not coated) makes cleanup a breeze—just a quick scrub with a sponge. It's versatile for stovetop, oven (up to 350°F), and even slow-simmering stocks overnight. No gimmicky add-ons, just clean lines and a capacity line etched inside for easy measuring. It's the kind of pot that looks good enough to leave out but performs like a pro tool.

Weight: Sturdy Yet Manageable
Weighing in at around 4-5 pounds empty (my kitchen scale says 4.8 lbs), it's got enough heft to feel durable and heat-retaining without being a backbreaker. Full of stock, it's substantial but not overwhelming—thanks to those ergonomic handles, I can lift it solo without strain. Compared to my old cast-iron beast (twice as heavy), this strikes a perfect balance: light enough for frequent use, heavy enough to simmer steadily without constant stirring. If you're petite or have mobility concerns, this won't intimidate you like bulkier options.

Overall, I'd rate this Mainstays 16qt Stock Pot a solid 4.8/5 stars. It's not flashy, but it's reliable, affordable, and excels at making large-scale cooking less of a hassle. If you're in the market for an all-purpose pot that punches above its price point, grab one—you won't regret it. Thanks again to Influenster for the opportunity to try it!

The Mainstays 16qt Stock Pot impresses with its ve

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) We make a lot of soup in this house during the winter months, but have never had a stock pot so it's always been a struggle when. I wanted to make more than a double portion. This pot is perfect for preparing soup when I'm entertaining for the holidays! It is quite heavy and can scratch and dent easily if you are not careful; however, for the price, the size and quality is reasonable. It can be used on an induction stove; however, I don't have a need for that function, as I am using this pot on a gas stove on low heat.

Decent size for soup days

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) We hosted Christmas dinner at our house for 12+ people. We served a Newfoundland jigs dinner for supper which requires boiling a whole lot of vegetables in a large pot with salt beef. We were not able to fit all of our vegetables we had planned to cook in the pot however we had heaps of leftovers. So I think it is sufficient to say that this pot could easily serve a dozen people if not more. Cleaning was easy. We washed by hand and did not put in dishwasher. We use the pot during high heat and low heat. The pot itself and cover get hot so make sure you handle with care.

Great large crowds
