This is to correct my previous review - I wish it would be better way to control one's reviews. I did it all wrong about installation. Even I did it wrong way it still worked and it didn't break. The thing is, that I shouldn't have removed those latches/hinges. They are part of the seat and bolts are not. Bolts are screwed to the toilet bowl and that is it. The toilet seat is removable without touching those screws, just turning those latches/hinges into 'open' position for easy cleaning and installing back by turning to 'lock' position. This is new to me, so I was thinking by old ways when you need to deal with latches and bolts for installation and removal.

Purchased Mainstay toilet seat and am delightfully surprised that the item exceeds my expectations. This was a great buy.

Fit perfectly,  easy assembly, great price, it is actually better then the old toilet seat I originally had! Only thing I would see being a problem is if you have kids, you would need a toddler sized toilet seat cover to put over because the part where your butt crack would sit is a little bit too small/wide for a child and I could see them accidentally falling in. Lol thats all. Other then that, I would buy again if needed & would recommend 👌

Easy to install, great price. My 7 year old complained that it has sharp edges (I don't notice this at all), so ended up getting some soft toilet seat cover-pads from Amazon.

Really rudimental seat.  the way it attaches to the toilet is just so silly and doesn't stay on the bolts so you have to reattach to the top of the bolts constantly .  Squeaks loudly from plastic on hard plastic rubbing against plastic and the seat is very uncomfortable.

It comes with design flaw. The screw holes are 5 mm off and do not match the toilet screw holes. Otherwise it might be a good product

Mainstays 17 inch plastic toilet seat

I bought this seat in less than a few months had to throw out. It was very difficult to get on because of the large lip on the screw preventing tightening. then plastic screws broke from normal use in a few months. I bought new screws, and found out because of the easy off design , the screws are unreplaceable when they break, you cannot use simple brass screws. Terrible design.

Easy off=easy break &not fixable

If you want to feel like you're sitting directly in the toilet bowl, buy this seat. Too narrow and slopes inward. Feels like you'll end up in the toilet. Awful
