This is a review for the Mainstays 2 Drawers Computer desk purchased on December 13, 2025. 

I rate this desk 5 out 5.

The assembly instructions were accurate, complete and easy to follow. All the screws and fasteners were individually packaged and labelled. The build quality was perfect. All the screw holes were aligned. The 2 drawers once installed glide smoothly and were easy to open and close. They even included stickers to cover the screw holes.

The desk comes with a hole for the USB assembly. I didn't use it for that purpose. I used it to install a single monitor arm.  Worked perfectly.

Once assembled, the desk is sturdy and the legs have height adjustments for uneven floors.

I would recommend buying the desk at your local Walmart instead of having it shipped. Even though the contents are protected, it is quite heavy and damage during shipping can still occur.

For the price, this desk is amazing value for your money.

Excellent build quality. Easy to assemble.

I like the modern look of this simple desk. Its sturdy and a good value for the price. There is no real wood pieces, but that's expected in this lower price range.

Cute desk for the price.

I purchased this table and it came right on time, Initially I tried assembling it myself, missed a couple of steps unknowingly, I was frustrated and felt it the parts were not matching. I considered returning it,but first I thought to ask a male friend to try assembling it for me, and if it doesn't work afterward, then I would return it.

To my greatest amazement, He did it correctly, The table came out well fixed, nice. Exactly as seen and advertised. All parts fits right into each other. 

And I must mention what my friend said to me when I complained they weren't fitting, He said: If you ever have to force it, then you are definitely not doing something right. 

You would not have to force anything, fits perfectly fine. The other important thing is to have a tool box, the fixer they added would not be able to drive the nails into the wood. You need an actual screw driver and that's it.

Assembles perfectly fine as seen on picture

This is a compact computer/study desk, ideal for smaller apartments. I bought this desk after purchasing a Zinus table of similar size and lower price, and I regretted not buying it initially. Compared to the Zinus table, this desk is sturdier and doesn't wobble due to the wood board center support, which the Zinus table lacks. While the Zinus table is cheaper and larger, it is of lower quality.

I deducted one star from my rating because the company makes the product non-returnable soon after opening the installation key, which can be problematic if it doesn't fit your space. So, buy cautiously. Another reason for the reduced rating is the difficult and poorly explained installation process, especially for the drawers and sliding channels. It's hard to determine the front and back of the wooden boards and channels. The installation instructions need improvement.

Lastly, pre-installing the channels on wooden boards #2, 3, and 4 would not have increased the packaging size but would have saved a lot of time for someone with minimal carpentry experience. The instructions seem geared towards those with average carpentry skills. I hope this lengthy feedback helps improve the future production of this table.

4-star for something deserving 5-star because-

Cute little desk. Not very big, but its all I need for my space. Sure I'd like a bigger desk, but space is limited. Not enough space to write when my computer monitor and keyboard sits on the desk .

Just enough

Desk is nice, seems sturdy. Was quite annoyed that a couple pieces weren't prepared properly for being attached to make the one drawer which made one side completely useless. Had to try using nails which made it worse and wood glue which just makes it only good for a handful of paper in the one drawer

Check the pieces before assembling

The desk looked beautiful at first, but during assembly the middle wood piece of the drawer broke apart while inserting the screws. The wood quality is very poor, and I'm quite disappointed.

Cheap Material!

Price is high according to quality. It should be $50 for this table.

Please use carefully as it is very delicate, can be broken easily if not handle properly.

Very light Quality

It is a sturdy desk once assembled and looks good. Very difficult to put together, alot of pieces and parts, wouldn't be easily put together for an older person

Not bad I guess

Usb port does not work , drawers are not identical. Pay attention before putting the first one in, as they are hard to remove. Instructions aren't clear
