For a very long time I have told my husband that I wanted a waffle maker, but I couldn't make up my mine which one to get.  This Mainstays 2 slice waffle maker was reasonably priced and the ratings were very good.  From the very beginning I was impressed.  The plates were easy to exchange and clean.  The instructions were so easy to follow and the waffle maker was compact and easy to store.  I love the "ready" light.  The waffle mix was quickly made in my kitchen with flour,baking powder, butter, vanilla, milk and sugar.  The instructions stated to use 1/2 C of a mix for each waffle, but I just used my instinct and had no issue at all pouring onto the waffle plates, with no spill.  My very first waffles (pictured below) turned out fantastic.  I lifted the lid at the 3 minute timer to check them and they were exactly as I wanted them.  At noon, I decided to make a grilled double cheese sandwich.  It was a cinch.  I lightly sprayed one side of each piece of bread with olive oil and put my cheese between it.  After 2 minutes, I checked it out and it was to perfection.  (see picture below).  For the bread, I used Nature's Own whole wheat bread and it fit perfectly on the sandwich tray.  Although the tray can grill two sandwiches at a time, I had no issue just using one side for one sandwich.  Clean-up time was easy.  This waffle-sandwich maker was one of my better buys.

I'm very happy with this sandwich maker. It heats up quickly and cooks the sandwiches evenly. The nonstick plates work really well, so the bread doesn't stick and cleaning is easy. I've used it for grilled sandwiches and eggs, and everything comes out nicely toasted. The removable plates are also very convenient because they can be washed easily.

For the price, this is a great little appliance and perfect for quick breakfasts or snacks. I would definitely recommend it.

Wow! I finally found a machine that can make both sandwiches and waffles, and the price was very affordable. When I opened the package, there was no unpleasant smell, and the plates feel solid and good quality. So far, I'm very happy with this purchase.

Love this Mainstays waffle %26 sandwich maker! 750W heats fast, ceramic nonstick cleans in seconds, and removable plates are a game-changer. Makes perfect snacks daily—total value for money!

I am impressed with this waffle maker. I makes a fine waffle in 5 minuets after being preheated.  The removable plates makes cleaning super easy and quick. The power cord is only about 24 inches but the length will prevent tripping and falling over the cord. It makes good evenly brown  waffles and they come out clean without sticking to the waffle griddle. The 1/4 cup of batter spread over the plates was the perfect amount. I rate this as a 100% good deal without even considering the included sandwich plates!

I'm really happy with this waffle and sandwich maker. It heats up quickly and cooks the waffles evenly with a nice crispy outside and soft inside. The nonstick plates work very well, so the waffles come out easily and cleaning is simple. I also like that it's compact and doesn't take up much space on the counter. It's perfect for making quick breakfasts or snacks in just a few minutes. For the price, the quality is surprisingly good and it feels sturdy enough for regular use. Overall, this is a great little appliance if you want an easy and affordable way to make waffles at home.

Easy to Use and Perfect for Quick Breakfasts

I bought this waffle maker for my boyfriend he was surprised that it also made sandwiches. He has used it twice for waffles and we'll try sandwiches this weekend he is very skeptical about buying small appliances but he said this was a five thumbs up

knowing that this is an inexpensive version of a waffle iron, you get what you pay for. Waffle plates are cheap made, clips to hold them in place are a joke bcuz they are so thin, waffles come out great, but saving a few dollars for a lasting waffle iron is not great UNLESS YOU GET THE WARRANTY
ALWAYS, get the warranty on your cheaper purchases

Plates work well, nothing sticks. The heating element works well too. My only complaint is that you cant put a stacked sandwhich like in picture, into the machine. It will either not close or burn the bread quickly.  Kind of defeats the purpose of a sandwhich maker. Its better only for grilled cheese or plain waffles.

The most important problem is that the handle gets hot!
My second complaint is that the bottom plate gets hotter than the top. I ended up turning the waffles over to get them brown on both sides. I can't imagine why this was rated 4 1/2 stars.
I am returning this product.

Giving this a Thumbs Down

Even upon following directions, contents leaked out, didn't seal sandwich correctly. I used thin sliced bread and one piece of cheese and one slice of deli shaved ham. It wasn't overstuffed. Not at all like the quality of the original sandwich makers decades ago. I'll be returning mine. I can't comment on the waffle making abilities, because I didn't bother making any after the sandwich fiasco.
