I read a lot of reviews which made me hesitate to purchase this, but since the more expensive waffle irons didn't have the additional plates I wanted, I decided to give it a try. Not sure what others were expecting, but I have found it to be a really good waffle iron. I set and 3 minute timer as well as watch for the indicator light to turn green-- these both help me check and ensure the waffles come out well. Sometimes it takes a little less than 3 minutes, sometimes a bit longer depending  on the batter but the indicator light is often accurate. Easy to clean, easy to use. One thing to note if you don't read the instructions, you will need to have it on for about 20 minutes for it to "off gas" in a well ventilated area for its first time being turned on-- after that (and wash it before using) it is good to go.

I enjoyed the ease to cook 2 nice size waffles at the same time came out perfect, easy to clean up just pop the plates out and wash quickly by hand then put the back in and store away, also enjoy the sandwich plates great for a quick grilled cheese or even homemade pastry. I have only been using about a month or so and cannot give a comment about longevity but appears well made for my needs.

We've always had one of these in the house growing up. I like that it comes with both waffle and sandwich plates. Unit works well and cooks pretty evenly. It did take a minute to pre heat. Cleans up very easily which I appreciate as my old ones were a pain to clean. Love that it had a cord wrap so everything stays organized in the cabinets. I would definitely recommend this item!

Just like I remember!

this is my first time purchasing and owning a waffle maker! LOL cuz I'm 52 years old! 
this works absolutely perfectly. does not take long to make waffles at all. soon I will try the other plates that come with it that you put in the waffle maker to make sandwiches, I'm sure it will work really well and I can't wait!

Haven't used it yet, but looks amazing and should be easy to use! I got this for myself for mother's Day. I saw some things on YouTube that people were using a waffle maker to make cornbread for chili and even putting cinnamon rolls on there and smashing them. I'm going to get a lemon cake mix and use it to make little crisps! And the other stuff too haha!

The plates are way too small for an average slice of bread and will not open large enough for two slices of bread a slice of ham and sli e of cheese. almost impossible to close and doesn't cut the sandwich. worst sandwich maker I've ever seen. I won't even try making waffles as it burns the outside but not cooked through.

DISAPPOINTED

i was so excited with the removable pieces so that i can easily clean it/ switch from sandwich to waffle..
However after using it for a short time it totally fell apart! This machine is disposable!! such a waste of money! First the piece that holds it closed popped of and now the back where the top and bottom is connected is separating!! yikes! Have never seen the likes! Terrible terrible quality!!!

Garbage! Waste of money! Get a better brand!!

Thought it would be extra useful to have sandwich and waffle maker in one. Until what eventually happens with every waffle maker and that is put a little too much batter in. Normally after that they can just be cleaned up but the design of this one means the plates can no longer be switched and the waffle plates are permanently stuck in place. The buttons for where you press to release the plates are in a bad spot and can't be cleaned out and looks gross after one incident.

Would not recommend

The latch is very weak and broke after just five uses. Make sure sandwiches are small; don't use Rye bread. With larger sandwiches, I'm honestly not sure but it may help to always do two sandwiches at a time to balance the pressure on the latch (so its not leaning to the left/right). Overall, better for waffles than sandwich making.

Weak latching mechanism

I had another version many years ago that I loved. This unit is horrible. The slots are too big for the bread to go in so instead of sealing the sandwiches cheese goes everywhere rolls out the side Burns sticks to the unit. It is more frustrating to use - it is junk. Returning it, not even willing to try the waffle part of it cause I'm assuming it's gonna be a bigger disaster mess

Junk - good concept poor design
