This multi-functional cleaning kit is a good choice for keeping your pool sparkling clean and looking good. This kit includes a  25FT vacuum hose (with an extra adapter) and a vacuum head with EZ clip connection. To use, connect the vacuum head to a pole (sold separately) and attach the vacuum hose. The swivel vacuum head features integrated bristles that are durable and wear-resistant. this is an old fashioned pool vacuum and this should be your first choice! I have 2 different robotic and a hand vacuum that has net and battery ran and all three are to messy and time consuming to clean. this vacuum cleaned all the crud we had in the bottom of our pool after we opened it this year. this was so easy hook to the intake and run on waste if you have a bunch of crud so it don't run through your sand filter. and run your garden hose into your pool at the same time because your waste will pull a lot of water out of the pool along with the crud.  should be your first choice for pool vac. this is our 5th yr with our 13x24 Intex pool with saltwater system.

  What they dont tell you is you will need an adapter, specifically one that will work with your pool.  I've tried quite a few and so far, none are a great fit.  Number 4 is on the way.

Needs specific adapter.

It's fine. I was looking for a cheaper alternative to the robot vacuums. I need something heavy duty for a lot of debris opening my pool for the season. It doesn't come with an adapter for the skimmer connection. Having to order one off amazon. For now, my husband is holding it on while I vacuum. But it doesn't the job.

The hose is good quality, but good luck finding an adapter for this. The best I could find is a universal adapter for a garbage disposal at Lowe's. It comes with the rubber adapter and three clamps. The Mainstays adapters do not work for any Coleman or Bestway pool (go figure, they sell both in store and at Sam's Club). The adapter strictly fits Intex as far as I can tell. It took me two weeks to learn about the Lowe's piece you can use, after vigorous searching, only to be saved by a decade old YouTube video comment. It's called “INSINKERATOR

Connector” for anyone having this same issue. It's either that or purchase an entire vacuum kit with tube, hose, head, and fittings from Bestway or Coleman for anywhere from $50-100. But this single adapter at Lowe's costed only a couple bucks. And for anyone shopping at Walmart, that's what you were purchasing this Mainstays kit to begin with: cheap prices. Anyway, when you stick the rubber connector into your inlet valve on the pool, there are several size fittings that can work. You just have to cram them in by folding in half to get to the next bigger one on it. That way it will have a tight fit with no suction leakage. Pretty simple really. But getting this kit and the adapter I found, you can easily save $50-60 for a working vacuum with no extra accessories. Hope this helps some people out there.

MAINSTAYS ADAPTER FOR INTEX ONLY, READ 4 SOLUTIOn

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The kit doesn't come with a pool skimmer vacuum cover which is essential to operate the device. We ended up having to order one separately on Amazon.

the hose is great, the vacuum head is good quality, it came with 2 rubber adapters or seals that the instructions dont tell you what they are for.  i thought id beable to hook it up to my pump and filter the dirt and stuff through my system so i wouldn't lose water, not a chance. so i just siphon it out to the ground and i have lost so much water because there's no suction, ive adjusted the thing on the vacuum to fully open, 1or2 and closed and saw no change in suction, i always brush al the debris and sand to one spot and even doint that and allowing it to sit on top if it for a few minutes everything is just spread out throught the pool

mixed feelings about it

I purchased a Funsicle 15ft pool from Walmart. This vacuum requires an adapter for the pool filter/skimmer unit that is not included. I purchased two different adapters from Amazon and still this vacuum would not work. The hose is very long and heavy for my pool as well. If one person fills the hose with water thru the return valve, and another person holds the hose into the skimmer,  while holding the adapter tight over the skimmer basket, it still does not vacuum up anything from the bottom of the pool. The water in the hose drains into the skimmer and you have to start the entire process all over again.

Requires additional adapter strong filter unit.

I used this on my above ground pool. I needed it to remove a layer of dead algae after I treated a green pool. However, it wouldn't work. I believe my bestest sand pump didn't have the right setting on it.

They dont even have a reg screw on end to go onto the pump. It doesnt work.  I do have a intex pump and filter, or on a intlet.  Great idea if it worked

I could not attach vacuum without an adapter…got an adapter and still can't attach! Really mad it doesn't have that in description!!! The instructions provided let you know that you do need to get an adapter but does not specify what kind! Soooooo disappointing!!
