Great little AC! Was a snap to install (I have casement windows so it's tricky to put an AC in.) The unit is small and very quiet, but it's a workhorse! It's early June in southern Ontario and the temperature outside is 23C/28C with humidex (72F/82F w/humidex) it is a cool 21C inside my living room with no humidity. I left this running on low all night and had no idea it was so sticky outside until I opened the door! My house is smallish; about 1200sqft with an unfinished basement; and this keeps nearly the entire upstairs cool.
The energy guide says this will cost $46/yr based on 8h/day for 3 months based on an average $0.12kwh I expect this to cost me about $45 month if it's run 24/7 (which it won't be). I'll gladly pay that to be comfortable this summer. Best purchase this year so far!!
FYI for those who have casements:
Instead of plywood, try foam sheet insulation. Its waterproof, easy to cut, fits snugly in the frame and its paintable.

Great little AC!

It does what it says it will do and it is very easy to operate.
It may sound loud when you turn it on but the minute you are asleep, it's not so, who cares!... at least you can sleep on a very hot and sticky night.
Also was very simple and easy to install.

Excellent little machine

We purchased one as a test and ended up purchasing a second one. We don't have to use the highest level to cool the room.

Love It.

My old AC was on the way out last year, so I thought the price was right for this one. I would give it a try.
It is in my upstairs bedroom and with a fan at the bottom of the stairs, it cools my entire 1160 sq ft house. Even my kitchen at the back of the house, is cooler with than it was without.
Very pleased with my purchase.

Worth of money

Worth the money, great price. Seems loud at first but then it just becomes background noise that you forget about very quickly.
I ordered online and it arrive with a broken fan. My husband took it in to walmart for an exchange.

I would recommend this AC to someone on a tight budget.

It's good

This AC unit does an amazing job at cooling down my room on hot summer nights. It has 2 fan settings and 2 AC settings. So after using it for a few weeks, I realize that it would be much nicer to have a unit with a remote as I'm constantly getting up to adjust the dial. It would also be nice if it had a temperature gauge on it of some kind to know how hot or cool the room is. Apart from that, this being the first air conditioner I ever bought, didn't realize that it was made only for windows that close vertically while mine is a horizontal closure. Luckily my dad made a shelf for it to sit on outside my window so once that was set up, and a board made for above the unit, it was all systems go. Live and learn I guess. It works very well and that's the bottom line for the cheapest price available.

Excellent function

I made the mistake of buying it without the proper windows (ie. the ones that slide shut from the top) so it took a bit of manipulating to make it work. It doesn't chill things out too too much but it keeps things relatively less hot. For the money, still worth it.

It's Alright

I bought this air conditioner for my bedroom, and find it very quiet. The quality of the unit is poor however, and the compressor only activates when turned on the highest setting.
