I have more faith in these old fashioned thermometers than the dial type or digital refrigerator. Those are certainly easier to read, but I've found them to be inaccurate more often than I would like. I wish the safety zone for the optimal temp for keeping refrigerated foods was more pronounced, but there were not many options available in the store the day I needed it. If you are not pressed for time, I recommend looking for one that is a little more clearly marked. I found that this model has a built in "clip" that fits perfectly over the adjustable trays on the back wall of my fridge so I do not have to rely on the suction cups to hold it in place and at a level that is perfect for viewing that red indicator line.

I got this to check the accuracy of a new refrigerator before we loaded it up with food. The cost is nothing compared to finding out that your brand spanking new refrigerator is NOT as cold as it should be and you have to throw out food that should have lasted much longer. (I won't even go into the process of getting the faulty fridge replaced!) Sadly, that is a real concern these days with even the "well-known" and more expensive brands that have been around for decades. If you are in the market for a new refrigerator, just take a look at the reviews on any website that sells large home appliances.  It doesn't seem to matter how much you pay, there is a 10-20% chance you will get one that will need a repair or replacement. It happened to me, and it happened to a family member who had to return TWO brand new fridges before getting one that worked properly.

Works Like I Expected

This fridge and freezer thermometer works very well. It does need to be mounted properly and stationed and it will last for a very long time. The temperature reading is very accurate. Used this already for multiple years.

it did what I wanted it to do; I bought it because I was buying a fresh turkey so I wanted to make sure it stayed cold enough in the fridge. It was easy to read the tempature.

Keeping it cold!

I read the reviews - The suction cups give way. OK. I lay it on the shelf.  As a thermometer, it works perfectly.  Large lines and numbers are easy to read.

Great thermometer easy to read keeps accurate temperatures. The only issue is the suction cup always falls loose. But still keeps accurate temperatures would recommend.

Overall great the thermometer

Only down aide to this thermometer is that it has a had time sticking inside the refrigerator and freezer. 
It's accurate!
But… it will be on the bottom of the fridge/freezer when you go to look at it.

Solid

I paid around $9 for this just after we had a power outage and i had to throw away all our cold food. I cleaned the area, placed the gage, looked like it was good. Went back in 30 min to grab a drink it had fallen. Did this 2 more times in different spots. The third time the thermometer inside broke loose. Threw it away within 6 hours of buying it. 10/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND!

I have it hanging on the front of a storage container on the top shelf of my fridge. Today I picked it up to read it and noticed that the tube has become completely dislodged. I purchased this product a month ago, January 21. It's now useless.

Doesn't Last

Thermometer doesn't stay stuck to surfaces inside refrigerator -- usually, at least one of the suction cups always comes off.  The actual thermometer, inside the casing (that holds the red line of alcohol or mercury) completely came loose.  Now, it will not stay where it should be, making it extremely difficult to read the temperature.
