I'm old school in my kitchen and love this simple,  stainless  thermometer. I had ordered this in the past and it was out of stock, so I accepted the fancy digital one they offered as a replacement. It worked great, but being as rough as I am sometimes on things, especially when in a hurry, I broke it. With this old school version, that is not a concern. The stem is thick and sturdy and there are no moving parts that I have to fool with while using it. Years ago I didn't know how this worked so I left it in whatever I was cooking when I put it in the oven. DON'T DO THAT. The plastic cover on the dial melted. BUT... I removed what remained of the cover and the thermometer still worked perfectly for over a decade. There's noting needed for turning on this thermometer. The display is so easy to read and the indicators mark what temps for which meats. There is no guessing or trying to remember which temps are best for which types of meats.

I searched everywhere for a simple meat thermometer and am very pleased with this one. It is accurate, works quickly and easy to clean. I simply wipe off the stick with a soapy dishcloth, rinse and air dry. While the package says dishwasher safe, the dial says do not insert dial into water. For the money, it was a great purchase for my cooking needs.

Accurate but dial was a little to big for me.

I liked it.  The thermometer works well.  
I think that a cover should come with it.
Of course, these things are very pointy, so for safety reasons,
I would have liked a hard, fitted sheath for the needle point end.

I used this once, and I trusted the reading.  However, a few weeks later I used it again multiple times and it would not register any temperature.  Needle moved a bit but that's it.

One and Done

I believe I used 2 times before it broke and you can only rise it with soap and water. The 3rd time I attempted to use it the thermostat would go in reverse.

stopped working after 2 months.  the "arm" won't move,  it's stuck on 160 degrees??

Meat thermometer DOESN'T work, never move at all to any temperature on the dial, after having chicken tenders in oven for 50 minutes, ...Waste of money, now have to rerurn.
