Nicely large and fluffy for the purpose: I haven't yet used one of these as a bath towel, but folded-over to make a fairly thick bed for my cat in order to improve comfort for her when she sleeps on the floor.  For the above-mentioned reason, I don't know about its measure of water absorbency.  It releases rather a lot of lint in the dryer, for the first one or two launderings, but probably not more than others of its type.
