Great!

Long time video baseball game fan...long time "the show" fan...and this game I think is better.

The thing I really like about 2K9 is the pitching. Instead of selecting a pitch and then hitting a button twice for the pitch meter, you actually use the right analog stick and throw the pitch. For example, a fast ball is straight back and staight foward, but if you bring it back and then foward to the left, it throws a circle change because it is the direction for the pitch. It is really unique. You can also change settings to classic pitching if you don't enjoy this style, but you'll love it.

Also, the camera angle for pitching is from the pitcher instead of the batter. So you are actually looking from the mound and depending on the batter the strike zone is really big, or really small.

The game gives you live sports scores while you play if you're on xbox live, and can be enabled to update rosters everytime you load a game. Both really nice features.

The graphics and gameplay are really smooth and look amazing.

Only compliant on the game is that there a couple gliches that they will hopefully work out next year. One is that sometimes the first baseman steps off the bag when he catches the ball and the runner is safe, you'll never know it happens cuz it looks exaclty the same as an out. The other thing is if it's not a force out, the defensive player almost never gets the tag on the runner. I'm halfway through a season and i've only got an out once with a tag. It's really aggrevating, but how nice the pitching and batting are really makes up for it.

Worth buying, great baseball game!

2k9 is better than the show

I bought this game hoping it'd be as good as the demo proved it would be. If you like to play franchise and single player exhibition's, then this is a really good baseball game for you. It still has some un-realistic capabilities to it but overall it is a good game. Online play is way less laggy than 2k8 so you can actually play online. However people still choose to throw tons of balls, so it might take you a while to find a good competitor. So I give 2k9 a A-.

MLB 2k9 better than 2k8

I own this and i own MLB 09 The Show, and this game has much better gameplay than The Show, alot more fun to play and easier, smoother controls. Only thing the show really has over 2K9 is all the extra stuff you can do in franchise mode for teh franchise behind teh scenes like marketing, concessions, stadium naming rights, etc., like how you used to be able to do in Madden. But The Show has lousy gameplay and controls, and isnt very fun. I reccomend MLB 2K9 over MLB 09 The Show

Better than 'The Show'

A great game that may have one or two things to correct. But all in all a exciting game that is very fun to play!

MLB 2K9

This game has so many bugs and glitches you can hardly play the game. I have it and the only reason i play it is because its the only baseball game i have. this game can make you very upset and very frustrated. There are so many bugs and glitches like outfielders randomly missing pop fly's and in practice mode when your running bases you cant control the hitter so he takes like 5 pitches then finally swings the bat. it is very frustrating. I strongly suggest you do not buy this game. it is definately not worth any price it shouyld have been recalled. DO NOT BUY!!

GLITCHES

I recently got this game and it didn't take long to realize that mlb 09 the show is way better than 2k9. The pitching is hard to master and hitting well its not too bad. I have played alot of baseball video games but this one is close to last as being worth while of playing. The graphics are good for the most part. Honestly I had high hopes for this game but it let me down.
