This rack is awesome, I have only used it once but I know I will have it for years. It is very easy to install and holds 2 kayaks very securely. Rough dirt roads, highway speeds and through stop and go traffic the kayaks stayed secure and never moved. The negatives are the mounting bolts are dangerously close to the roof of the vehicle, even when using the shorter bolts provided. And the instructions are really not the clearest, I did figure out the load strap wrapping procedure with a little trial and error. FYI tie off the free ends of the loading straps to prevent any loosening of the load and to keep them from banging the side of your vehicle.

Installed this rack with two kayaks (10 foot and 8 foot) and drove it around to test with no problems. The following weekend went on a 700+ mile trip with the same two kayaks and this rack worked beautifully. The only issue was that the kayaks did settle into the foam blocks so the straps had to be tightened a few times and the roof rack bars on my Explorer had to be moved closer to keep the kayaks off the roof. I had none of the problems I have seen other reviewers mention on this and other sites about this product.
