Description Is Accurate!

This kit (2 rubber seals/gaskets) is for the Mansfield 08/88-1112 Fill Valve assembly. There is an online video showing how to replace the seals and simple diagram on the back of the package. I have an old Mansfield No. 35 toilet. The only problem I had was trying to readjust the tank water level by adjusting the float on the metal arm. The water level was too high after I replaced the seals. Anyone buying this part knows that you can't get it at the big box stores and all of the online plumbing suppliers are charging $8 to $9 just for shipping. At $4 plus $8 shipping you might just as well buy a replacement fill valve at a big box store for $10. By the way, I weighted the plastic shipping envelope on a digital scale and it weighted exactly 1oz.. I would guess the real shipping cost is less that a dollar (not $8-$9)!

Sometimes you can get away with cleaning these diaphragms, flipping them over  and removing any buildup on the inlet so they seat properly but eventually you do have to order a new set as rubber does degrade over time. From the instant I tore open the package to the instant I was tossing my ChannelLocks back into my toolbag, perhaps 4 minutes had elapsed.  This fit my Mansfield 08-1112 fill valve perfectly.

Did the job like it should

The picture of the fill valve repair kit shows blue material which is a new type material that seems to last longer than the normal black rubber.
I was surprised that the repair kit sent to me was the black rubber and not the blue material like the picture shows.
Kit works, but picture is not the same material as what is being sent.

Walmart definitely had the best price on-line and the delivery was timely.
Unfortunately these diaphragms did not fit my older Mansfield model 8 (I took a chance since I could not find the right model anywhere.)
