This freezer has met and exceeded our expectations. We use it for our frozen fruits and works wonderfully. We have defrosted it once already and it takes very little time to complete. This was an excellent purchase and the price was right. Well done Marathon

A great find. Small upright freezer that had to maneuver through a tight opening to fit into our basement. Had it 2 years and it's working well. Upright so easy to find everything and we defrost it once a year. Very happy with this product.

The small upright freezer I bought years ago is still working great. It fit perfectly into a small storage space. I would recommend this freezer.

I am happy with this Stirling Marathon product, which I chose because it is made by a Canadian company. It's a bit tippy being so tall compared to its width so I make sure I hold it steady when I open the the door. Otherwise I would have given it a five star rating.

Good overall unit with no real issues. A bit of a pain to defrost and there is a crack in the plastic of the inside door. The crack could be self inflicted but difficult to tell. Apart from this, very happy with the unit.

Reliability

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Positive: Keeps cool, low cost of energy. Negative: the sound of "pop" when it starts is quite unpleasant since the purchase (we hear it throughout the house), the door sucks so much that it is almost impossible to open without spilling the freezer.

Good, but...

This was a very bad purchase, the first freezer failed after a few months and it was replaced on warranty. The replacement failed about a year later and fortunately the retailer gave me a full refund because they no longer carried the Marathon model. I used the cash to purchase a competitor model which has now been running for over 2 years without an issue.
