I gave this to my 7 year old nephew.  He loves anything Mario and loves video games, so he's been quite involved with this one.  I haven't played it personally, but I believe it's a little more action/RPG than a platformer.  He goes silent, busy, and immersed until his Granny says put it down.  You've played for 2hrs.  Time to go outside!  :)

LET THE BUYER BEWARE: THIS IS THE WORLD EDITION. Does it play in any North American 3DS family of systems? Yes. Does it have the World Edition logo on it? Yes. Does it play in English? Does it come in a red case? No. If you're just looking to play the game, this will work fine. If you're a collecting wanting the red case and not wanting the World Edition Logo, then you'll want to pass over this one.

LET THE BUYER BEWARE: THIS IS THE WORLD EDITION

Instead, I received a copy made for the UAE/Malaysia/Singapore region. The game card will play in my PAL 3DS, but I can't download an update from the eShop.
