There's been many good to great superhero games released, especially since the last console generation. Just from Sony's first party output alone, there's been the inFamous games and the less well known but equally wonderful Gravity Rush series. Then there's Rocksteady and their seminal Arkham series that did for licensed superhero games what Christopher Nolan did for superhero films with his Dark Knight trilogy. 

It's difficult and probably reductive to compare Insomniac's effort to those other titles, but Spiderman PS4 deserves a spot at the table all the same. It's excellent fan service for Marvel fans, its one of the most technically impressive titles on any platform, and while the gameplay isn't anything remarkable, it nails just about everything right, which is an achievement in and of itself for such a large open-world title. 

I'm early yet in the story so I can't comment much on it, but so far it does something wonderful: it shows you the humanity of Peter Parker outside of the suit; such a great narrative choice. The soundtrack is also superb, as is the acting and the attention to detail. It feels every bit a modern 2018 Marvel production: astronomically budgeted yet intimately focused on the small details where it matters. 

An excellent title and a great way to end off a PS4-dominant year for which began with the likes of God of War (2018). As for Walmart's service, they delivered the game on the day of release with no cosmetic damage to the disc or case, and the preorder DLC codes were emailed a day before.

An excellent open-world superhero game

This is the best spiderman game bar none.

The movesets are incredible.  The gadgets, suits and upgrades and awesome.

This in my humble opinion is better than the Batman games.

So much to do, combat is amazing, good story
