[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] With all the many versions of King Arthur's story, none can compare with Mary Stewart's work. Told from the eyes of Merlin, beginning with his childhood--makes the legend wider in scope. The characters are truly brought to life,  and written in a way that you can see what motivates each. The descriptions of the English countryside are simply marvelous. I've read this so many times since it was published, this is actually my fourth copy! Don't pass this one up!!!
