Opening

I had a little bit of trouble getting it to open for the first time using the instructions provided (they weren't very clear), but once that was accomplished, I had no trouble whatsoever. This is a good, heavy lock.

This is a really neat product, very simple to set YOUR own combination. School hasn't started yet so I haven't used it on a locker. So far, easy to open, and it's distinctive looking.

Some people complained about lock being hard to turn. This happened to mine after a year, I sprayed a little wd40 in the lock, and it works better than new. I can't believe people didn't try that.

Works great with a little wd40

I was looking for a padlock with a 100% protection against shim (the easiest and fastest way to crack a padlock) and some other Master Lock padlocks are still "shimable". But this one has a new mechanism like "ball bearing" that makes it really protected.
It doenst have the greatest quality with the materials used but does the job for a gym locker.

Really anti-shim

Bought this padlock for customizable combo. Accidentally drop it on the locker floor, the combo got randomized! Was unable to open it after.

Bad product

I bought 2 of these locks. One jammed and wouldn't open after 4 months of school use. The other one lasted 2 1/2 school years, but the dial separated from the lock and it wouldn't open. Don't buy these locks!

Failed!

Waste of money.  Being able to select a phrase or number that has meaning to you that is easy to remember is a great idea but it doesn't work with this lock!  Opened brand new lock, followed directions to choose my password, then tried it and can't open lock.  Now useless.  Back to Walmart!

lock does not work

Bought 4 of these and all worked fine for first couple years, but one has stopped working and remains locked on something I need access to immediately. All have a tendency to become very stiff and almost impossible to turn the dial at times. I won't be buying more of these.

Three Work - One Failed

I just bought this for my kid thinking it would be easy for him as its his first year using one. we unlocked it once to get it off the package and now cant get it to unlock again.
