Building Experience

At a price point lower than Lego's Speed Champions line, and boasting a cleaner car look (few, if any, studs are showing), I decided to give this a try. I was not disappointed. Many of the pieces were what you're familiar with from other brick brands, and some unique pieces were in the set as well. Pieces went together well, but didn't have the same ease of connection in all cases that Lego has....but it's close. The biggest draw, other than the attractive price point, is the inclusion of printed pieces. A sticker sheet is included, but is 100 percent optional to customize your car however you want. If you want a clean car, keep it clean. If you want a ton of stickers to make it a race car, you can. If you want to land somewhere in the middle, the choice is yours. The instructions were easy to follow, and the inclusion of a regular Hot Wheels car of the same vehicle was a great touch. Also included is a metal plate that you can affix to the bottom of the car with the Hot Wheels emblem and the car name, making it look like a "big" Hot Wheels car. I really enjoyed the set, and am keeping my eyes out for additional cars that I'd like to build in the line. This isn't a threat to Speed Champions, but Lego should have this line on their radar, as it's got a lot to offer that they don't.

Very nice alternative to Lego Speed Champions

This was the second Mattel Brick Shop set I've built. Just as fun as the first. Easy to follow instructions with cool information about the car scattered through the instruction book. For a building set around 20 dollars you're guaranteed to have fun with this. The fact that it comes with a matching Hot Wheels diecast is just the cherry on top.

Fun build, Great Price

very beautiful looks just like a real lego and the doors even open ,it's very realistic and perfect for a beginner

very good purchase

The Black Friday deal was awesome. I wasn't expecting to save this much money for this. Hopefully it'll be ready in a timely manner, but I'm happy with the purchase so far.

loved that it had the matching car in the package. great idea there. Great gift The whole idea of having the finished small car then add the model car/ building brick mix ingenious.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 11 year old son and I had a lot of fun putting this vehicle together. It took two 45 minute sessions, to complete the model. The assembly instructions were very clear and intuitive. Once we found our “groove” we were able to traverse the instruction steps quickly and easily. The quality of the model and the pieces are impressive. The parts fix together perfectly, with an audible “snap” sound – letting you know that a positive connection was made. Once assembled, the model car felt very solid seems like it could survive many days of play without falling apart. The model kit also comes with an identical hot-wheel car which just adds to the fun! I highly recommend this kit in the Mattel Brick Shop Series.

Brick Shop is Solid Fun!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It was good quality at a great price, and my son was thrilled with it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I saw this and thought that this would be a great project for my son. My son loves expensive cars and building things. When he opened the box he was really enthusiastic about the starting on making the car.
I was amazed at how quickly he was able to build the car and how it looked. We have the car on display in his room on a shelf as an example of his talent in creating cars that he constructed on his own

Great! Combination of cars and building for kids

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My son had the opportunity to put together the Mattel Brick Shop Hot Wheels Maserati MC20. He was so excited to put this together because he loves cars and has been wanting a car like this. It was an easy build and took about 45 minutes to put together. We liked how the pieces came in bags that were numbered and an instruction book which was easy to follow along with. We like how the doors can open up. One thing we wished is that the hood and the back trunk would open up but it is just fine the way it is. The hub caps are inter changeable which my son liked. There are stickers that it comes with that you can put on the car or you can leave them off. It also comes with a little mini car. The doors don't open on it which is fine.

Fun Little Car

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Kiddo is a huge car lover and loves building bricks so this was right in their wheelhouse. Wasnt super time consuming and the inclusion of the small car was a good idea but not great execution as it felt lacking in quality. Overall it was fun and a hit with kiddo, and will be purchasing other models.

Nice quality
